The NFL apparently is abandoning the traditional counting of SBs by Roman numerals and instead will use the number 50 next year.
"Roman numerals were first used for Super Bowl V (Jan. 1971)"

Hmm...thought that the first "named" SB (and was the first one that I watched from beginning to end) was in 1969 as III, must be mistaken.
The NFL is only doing this b/c the Lions are the lone NFL team that begins with the letter L and they OBVIOUSLY don't want to increase their chances of playing in or winning it...:nod:
