A Super-Committee failure comment: The federal govt is broke because for the most part OLD people refused to do anything when in their 40s and 50s to plan for the future, and now believe the young should pay for their relative high standard of living while reducing the standard living of the young. Until much of the old people die, they still have a strong enough voting block that makes Congress a do nothing Congress. Might be a harsh statement, but it is a true statement.

Sorry to break the news to you, but this debacle started in 1913. It was meant to fail.
