SB Party food.

Normally we have food based on the city of the team we are pulling for, but since this is a lose/lose for us (see other thread SC#1), we would typically do the food based on city hosting the SB.

Problem being the relatives who will be coming over don't do Mexican (too spicy and don't like the flavor). Personally Mexican is like my favorite go to food, especially during football.
Maybe we'll just serve cans of corn and tell everyone this is all they get because they are a bunch of....ah, anyway...

Ugh...just not going to be a good SB party this year in my house. :(

Why not just go with a New York City theme?

New York pizza, Nathan's chili dogs...all that...

fuck them. Make Mexican food and if they don't like it they can bring something they like.

How the hell do people not like mexican.

Old Jews tend to have very bland tastes in food, which means not serving Mexican keeps the bathroom cleaner and fresher. Lol

But yeah, I first heard that and was like, WTF??? Thankfully my wife was adopted so she doesn't have the same issue.

Bust out the grill on a cold day, and cook up a huge Paella. Let everyone much as they want to.

I'm doing one this year with shrimp, andouille, chicken, spanish chorizo mussels, and scallops.

Plus I am going to do my slow grilled baby backs, so people can just walk over to the grill and grab one or two as they feel like it.

I love spicy and flavor but hate Mexican. It looks disgusting.

Somehow I need to find out where Ink lives..

Since they are old Jews I'm guessing the shellfish is out. However I'm told that the chosen people do enjoy a touch of salmon now and then. PAC NW smoked salmon would be a good start.

With bagels and cream cheese.

Do they not have meat and dairy together?

Correct, and the salmon is too close to equating to rooting for Seattle, so that's out. The lox is an option provided it is Alaskan. Can't really tell origin of fish, but the packaged lox can at least give me plausible deniability. Lol

Could do the lox as appetizer. They don't really do the time delay between eating dairy and meat, just so long as it isn't on same plate. They will usually wait at least 15 minutes, but it is more a general feeling before they switch as opposed to watching the clock.

So what's the ratio of these food assholes to regular eaters at this party? Is it 5 food assholes to 20 regular eaters?

I'm down closer to the border. And my Paella is traditional Spanish, not Mexican. Bright, beautiful, flavorful, lots of different meats and peppers and onions and garlic... I'm damned hungry thinking about it.

I plan on buying a 52" paella (the pan) next year and building an open fire pit for it in the back yard, so I can feed upwards of 25 people.

I probably cook Paella at least once a week. It's my favorite food because I can pretty much do anything from traditional chicken Paella to seafood Paella, to ... well.. whatever I find in the kitchen cause I haven't gone shopping yet Paella, and it all turns out amazing.

Spanish is alright. Peppers and garlic might be the best of all time. I'll put garlic on everything if I could. If you have 25 people I could blend in..you wouldn't even notice  I'm hungry myself thinking about it..

Shit man, when I do the big cook-outs, I don't even know half the people at my house. I think they just sort of wander in and grab a plate.

If strangers can show up, a buddy sure as hell can.
