Tate on the fans

In my 20+ years as a lions fan I've felt like the Lions organization has turned their back on the fans many times.

NO fan base in the entire history of sports has it worse than the Detroit Lions fans. And yet, we continue to follow this travesty of a franchise, and the FANS are the ones turning their backs on this team?? Unreal.

Golden Tate. Don't have a back breaking illegal cut block when Zenner runs for a first down into Arizona redzone down 14-7.

And then fumble down 21-7 to kill the game.

0-4. And pick on first drive. Of course they would boo early

I said in the game thread, I wonder which idiot will complain about the fans. I have my answer.

Put a better product on the field and the fans won't boo as much.

Simple as that

It's probably frustrating for a guy like Tate, who I'm sure is giving all he can every play, to hear boos. But the anger and frustration from the fanbase runs deeper than that and he shouldn't take it personally. This is a complete failure from top to bottom...while the players aren't completely blameless, they've been put in a bad spot from coaches to management (and ownership).

Maybe I'm overthinking it a bit, but when I hear boos, I don't look at the single event as the reason, I look at it as this accumulation of frustration from a fanbase that has been repeatedly beaten down. We've been let down for 50+ years yet we've also put up with it for 50+ years. I don't know if not showing up or not buying merchandise will actually do anything, but we have to do something to show that this poor performance is unacceptable.

Yep. Tate eventually will somewhere else and he'll still be getting paid. 57+ years will bring out the frustration.

If he really knew the history of this team he wouldn't have even said that. He's a guy that can up and leave when his contract is done and talk about how refreshing it is to play for a winner. Us fans don't jump teams like that and have been through a hell of a lot more than a 5 game losing streak. Fuck his comments.

Yup I remember reading it did not think it would be GT.. But then he had a really bad game..

Looks like he was taking this embarrassing loss hard. I can see why he called out the fans

Peterson probably thrwos that jersey in the garbage in the taco bell drive thru. Why would he care about a #2 wr jersey.

He has that look like "hey buddy this isn't a fair trade. I need your shoes, and I want my jersey back."

These guys act like they are entitled to a full house every game and ignore the fact that the product on the field is trash, especially here in Detroit where it has been trash for as long as I can remember with only the occasional decent team mixed in to keep us hooked. Start winning some games and the fans will fill the seats.

Most players have no idea what lions fans have endured for decades. We are stuck with this team Golden, you'll play your 3 or 4 seasons and move on, we'll still be here watching this team continue its laughing stock ways.

The fans of the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Browns have it better than Lions fans.

Yesterday's game was comical. It didn't enrage me in the least, I just laughed. We all root for an eternally doomed team.

I went to Bdubs with a friend and he brought his 17 year old son. I was laughing the entire game. His son kept asking "Dad, why did you make me a Lions fan?" Too funny!

The swapping jersey stuff after an ass kicking really does kinda burn my ass. I forgive you though Tate, and Calvin the previous week for that matter, as you have no idea how deep the pain is Tate, none what so ever. We don't turn our backs, we look away before the pain destroys us. This shit has been going on for some (not you) but for many of the fans here longer than you can comprehend. that's is all Golden, fans didn't turn their back it's something much deeper than that buddy.
