Tate speaks out on Schwartz being carried off of the field

Meh, whatevs...it is the last time he will ever experience that type of feeling so hopefully he had fun with it in his typically classless ways.

It just shows the complete lack of professionalism of Schwartz and and also shows why the teams of his Lions tenure were so undisciplined.

we blew games under him and we blow games without him.

I think the Bills should have carried Henry off the field not Schwartz. Henry won the game for them not Schwartz

Lol. Now that would have been funny..

I didn't even know he did that. I thought he was a total POS before and he hasn't done anything to change my mind.

They could have taken him straight to the airport with them....saved him the cab fare!

I will say that I think Schwartz did remove the "soft" label from the franchise. I give him credit for that. But then they took it too far into thuggish on field behavior and undisciplined play. It was really difficult rooting for this team the last two years of his tenure. And that's got nothing to do with W-L. Being a Lions fan kind of cures you of worrying about W-L.

I couldn't disagree more. Under Swartz the Lions were one of the softest teams in the NFL. Just look at the way they finished games and finished seasons. You had one thing right...they were thuggish and undisciplined but they were still soft.

If it was done spontaneously by the players then no big deal. But if he was in on the planning then it is a huge douche move. Why would you want to be carried off the field when it was an out of conference game that made your record 3-2? It's not like a clinched a playoff berth or something. And it's not like you dominated the game. You won a game where the opposing team's kicker just shanked 3 FG's.

Agreed.

IF it was spontaneous then it shows the Bills defense understands, and wanted to support their coach.

If, as Tate tells it, it was at the request of Schwartz... man, I'm just glad he's gone. Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame after a kicker blew the game for us. You're still a complete tool.

I honestly don't know why this bothers everyone so much. It was so ridiculous, planned, and over the top that it is damn funny. If you don't want him pulling these silly stunts, handle your business at home against a team that you should dominate.

The guy is who he is. This shouldn't surprise anyone. I just don't know why it makes people so angry. It's sports. He had his 15 seconds of fun, let's move on.

It seems like I read somewhere that he told players he wanted to be carried out of Ford field after a win way back in off-season camps.

As a non-Lions fan I remember my Lions friends bashing me for calling Schwartz unprofessional and classless after those stupid ass fist pumps following wins. Funny how they all hate this clown nowadays for this ridiculously douche move. The guy is a chump and I have said it for years.

Also, good for the Bills, because up until Sunday I forgot that Buffalo still had sports teams.

Ok that does it, Tate is now one of my second fav lion behind CJ
