for canceling our series in 16 and 16, now we have the worst bye weeks possible. week 2 in 2016 and week 1 in 2017

Did you really want those ass whippings???

I don't.

So, yes, thank you!!

I'd much rather play them when there is less on the line. we'd have a chance against the team that lost to Mississippi. nobody would have a chance against the team we played last Thursday.

Didn't bama want to play @ Bama this year then a neutral site in 2017 but MSU declined and accepted the request to cancel?

What's the benefit of playing on a neutral field? I feel like a home and home makes sense for both sides. It gives the fans of each team a chance to see great competition without having to travel to Dallas or wherever the game might be played instead.

as for when you play them, it does matter, you can catch a disinterested or injured team, more randomness helps the underdog.

Ole Miss beat them, though Bama turned it over 5 times to 0 for Ole Miss.

I'd like MSU's chances against Bama if we were +5 in turnovers.

I think most teams look at a home and home as a split, maybe not bama, but a lot of teams don't want to concede a likely loss on the road. They'd pick one neutral site game vs the home and home.

I still wish the CFP games were played on the campuses vs sterile neutral sites. How awesome would it be for a SEC team to come to big ten country in December or January?

that will never happen!

I think the neutral site games make a lot of sense when you are talking about two major programs. Big payday and you still keep all of your home games that year. Probably a big money maker in the long run.

all the money is made from TV, way more than ticket sales. of course it will never happen because these are big, corporate events with all of the official sponsors of NCAA football getting huge ticket allotments. That wouldn't happen in Norman, East Lansing, Eugene, Columbus, etc.

I'm just thinking out loud, it would be awesome for the fans to see the game in the elements.

you like our chances better without Connor Cook?

Lol......I don't.

Let's face it, I'm glad that series was canceled. I'd much rather show we can do it on the big stage then beat them when it doesn't matter.

I'm saying in general I'd rather play them early in the season rather than in a bowl game. Even Wisconsin scored on them and lost by less and Wisconsin was not good this year. But to answer your question, Connor Cook didn't do squat against them so I don't think he would make that much difference.
