The City of San Jose is suing MLB

If San Jose has a case, so does every city in the United States.

Fuck the Giants. Why should they get to keep the territorial rights to San Jose forever when the rights were given to them by the A's in the first place so they could build a stadium there which they never did? Because they're scared of a little competition? That's pathetic.

San Jose Sues Major League Baseball Over Athletics.

From Munson's perspective, MLB has little to stand on, and could very well finally find itself in the proverbial corner. Honestly, I think this is a clear case of hubris. It was the hubris of the Giants and the commissioner that have made a situation that seemed clear cut to come to such a possible end. I would rather no legal action be taken, but for San Francisco to amiably relinquish their hold of the San Jose area, as the A's once did when former owner Walter Haas gave the area to the Giants. I like tranquil and gentlemanly transactions, but after years of stagnation, it seems that something finally may change, and in this case, change may be for the best.

Refreshing to see that your bias is in no way influencing your opinion. And you are forgetting that Magowan bought the Giants in 1992 with the condition that the territorial rights remain in force.

Sure I'm biased, but don't play coy. You're only taking a position here because you've made it no secret that you are partial to the Giants.

That has no bearing on Magowan's purchase conditions. Not partial to Giants qua Giants. Have some online buddies who are Giants' fans. Does not make me a fan of the team.
