Okay...this year is the first in a long time that I haven't really been paying attention to college football (outside of the Big 10). Most of these players in the draft are people i have never heard of or know very little about.

Are there any "can't miss" players in this year's draft? Any prototypical DE's or LBs that we could take at #5? Is the draft Top Heavy, weak, deep, etc?

Usually, I'm all over this, but this year has been very different. Too busy. Thanks in advance.

Weak draft. Especially at the top. If joeckel moore and werner are gone at 5 would be a good year to move down....but theres not many impact guys that teams will move up for. Some decent depth to the draft though....youll see a ton of quality guys picked in rd 3 and 4. Welp....we wont be picking in rd 4, but you catch my drift.

that really sucks. we could use an impact guy at #5.

if we get a DE he should be an impact guy. If we pick the OT we will probably play him at fullback all year....so I don't know if you call that impact or not. Warmack would be a stud guard....but most teams wont like the value of picking a guard in the top 5. Milliner is probably one of the top 10 best players in the draft and could be selected if we finally fill the cb need.

Its the lions and the draft. That means if there is a way to be screwed or screw up, that will be the end result we will have to come to terms with.

From no rookie cap when Stafford, pettigrew, suh, and best were drafted, to the weak class they have the pleasure to enjoy this time around...if the lions can in any way get screwed, so shall it happen.

Just curious? If those 3 are gone, why would anyone be willing to trade up?

If Milner is the real deal someone will trade up for him, likely with Philly though to snatch him from us.

If the top DEs, OT, and CB are gone would like to see safety Vaccaro taken by the Lions. Delmas' injury concerns have been a huge problem, and I think drafting a safety to play opposite of Delmas or take his spot WHEN he gets injured again is a must. Not sure it needs to be done in the 1st round, but if the kid blows up the combine, why not???? Honestly would be just as happy with Elam from Florida, who might still be there when the Lions pick in the second round.

there isnt really an impact guy comming out that teams will be willing to trade that high for imo. Those type of guys are typically playmakers at WR or a top notch qb. But most of the WRs this year are projected bottom part of 1st round and all the qbs suck. Dont really see a guy jumping at a DE when theres several that are top 15 projected not to mention we should be picking the best avail DE if moore or werner are still on the board. The rest of the current projected top 10 consists of DTs and a G. dont see teams moving up for one of them. If joeckel is still on the board i could MAYBE see a team moving up for him...but he'll be gone and if he isnt we'd be dumb not to take him at 5. Things could obviosuly change post combine...but thats how i see it currently.

So what's the deal with Joekel? My coworker said he was the best LT coming out since Jake Long, and probably better. I can't find anything like that on him.

He was a stud in the SEC....cant be much more dominant than that.

Check the game vs Bama, both tackles are super studs.
