The Official MSU vs ][V][ichigan Game Thread

Just saw the punt for the first time. The 3 UM guys in front of the kicker broke right like it was a fake punt, or maybe roll-out right and then kick...Harbaugh say anything after the game about "the play"...or was it just a simple punter clusterfuck?

He fucking dropped it and I think tried to pick it up and throw it and as soon as it was in msu hands I walked out of the room as I knew no one would be able to catch him.. he should have fallen on it..it has to be told to him at the timeout...just fall on it..
Be that as it may our offensive game plan was putrid. ..to much playing not to win in my opinion. ..don't get me started on the targeting call...

Better team won. Congrats.

Special teams are a huge part of a game and they made the difference.
Did anyone see this? In another thread he post that the "better team won" Johnny you must be cognitively disabled.

I get it UM lost in horrific fashion, the only thing worse is your trolling.

That is his punting style. Every punt he does is that way, not a fake, just his rugby style punting mechanics.

I was at a buddies engagement party and didn't get a good look at the play, but from what I saw that punt was at the 30 yard line or so right? If he fell on it msu still would have had a chance for a FG I assume, no? I can't fault the guy for trying to kick it after mishandling it.

Just watched it again (painful as that was). He was on the 40, well out of field goal range. He falls down on the ball and MSU has it at the 40 with 7 seconds and no time outs. Probably have to hail mary it as a result.

Ah ok, then ya...bad decision by him. But that was just bad luck, he had a great game prior to that...super painful way to lose that game. I was numb, and don't even have a "dog in the fight", I think that's a worse way to lose than the Lions/Seattle game.

There's nothing to discuss here. Michigan just lost in the most unimaginable way possible. There's special teams gaffes and then there's this. I would very there's never been anything like this happen ever before. What in the fuck do you all want? At the end of the day, it came down to two guys executing and they both fucked up. MSU is a bad team. They just got the luckiest break of any team I have ever seen in my 29+ years on this earth and, by no accomplishment of their own, won the game. They just beat a team that was 5-7 last year on that play. It took that, the most despicable play in the history of football, to beat Michigan. This is surely a disappointment for Michigan fans, especially given the past few years, but those MSU fans that are over the moon right now will soon wake up and realize that their house of cards is eventually going to come crashing down.

That was a win for Michigan. They outplayed MSU in every facet of the game, they did so in spite of the fact that the refs kept throwing bullshit flags and ejecting players for phantom penalties. They're no excuse for the outcome, but once fucking play doesn't change the fact that Michigan has a better team than MSU, even when MSU has a first round QB running the offense.

This post sums up your fan base perfectly. If the field had been crowned you would have won.

I thought his instinct was to pick up the ball to run...

I wonder if they practice that? If they don't they should. Tell the center to give him a bad snap randomly and have the practice team defense to go all out to nail his ass. That would give him the clear idea that the best thing to do is to just fall on the ball if things go bad rather than to keep trying to punt it.

How the hell weren't you blowing us out when we were without a starting olb, 2 corners, 2 safeties (we started 2 true freshmen), our all American cemter, starting running back, and punter?

How in the hell wasn't Michigan blowing you out? How in the hell wasn't MSU blowing Michigan out? One-sided penalties, world-beating QB and world-beating receiver against 5-7 team. And your team with a "chip on their shoulder".

Go ahead and beat your chest. Keep living in denial. You got lucky. Luckier than any team any team I've ever seen. With the "Castaway QB" and shitty calls that all went your way, it still took a major miracle to win the game.

How about the missed pi on Burbridge when he went up with one hand because his other one was held? How about the Phantom td where forward progress was stopped for a few seconds? The officiating crew sucked overall but we were a hobbled team playing on the road. You can focus on that last play but you had a ton of chances to put this game away and didn't.

We just do not have a good qb.. he just did not make enough big plays. Didn't expect the punter to drop it but who did? Hopefully one day Mark's luck will run out because tonights had to be the top of the barrel .... who knows I do know if Bolden was in no way that fullback breaks off that big of a gain.. bad way to lose tonight for sure. .

Penities.. lol. Missed flags... like hands to the face that was missed ...face mask that was missed ..heck Msu linemen are holding pros... but the targeting call was the touchdown drive game changer ...no if ands or but and everyone but Spartan fans knows it. . It went from third and 4 to a whole new set of downs deep in,Michigan territory. Oh and don't give me you would not be mad about the piling on call... talk about a weak call in the heat of battle. Lol..

Guys, just stop already. It took far more than this one play to win/lose the game.

Let's say he does "just fall on it". The way the game went, how can you say MSU doesn't complete the Hail Mary for the win?

They didn't blow out MSU because the D was anything but their normal self. MSU didn't blow out UM because THIS year's team is NOT 5-7 and being coached by Hoke.

Get some perspective, or drunk, or both. MSU won. It was a lucky play at the end, but their team played well enough to be in position to have that lucky play win the game. UM lost which sucks as a UM fan, but that one play was far from the reason they lost. How many crucial penalties did they commit on O and D? How many blown assignments? How many coaching decisions resulted in bad plays? How does the D give up a 70+ yard TD to get the game to 23-21?

TEAM LOSS with a considerable amount of luck for MSU on that last play. But hell, there have been games won when a punter kicks the ball and it gets returned for a game winning TD. This type of shit happens even in the NFL.

Pull up your big boy pants, acknowledge, and move on.

Bolden lead the team in tackles... yeah shame on those refs i am sire ithe change a the game a bit.
