I was there - okay, in spirit, watching in the TV room of our Ann Arbor house, 40 or so miles away.

I guess I was about 10 years old.

My friend around the corner went with his dad.

I remember one or two of you said you were there.

Nice so many remember it so fondly.

Very nice.

Rose, the all-time leader in hits, not only didn't start, he didn't take an at-bat. He was in the on-deck circle when the last out was made.

"When I played the outfield,'' said Rose, who later became an every-day infielder, "I had to beat out Mays, Aaron and Clemente to start. That was my competition. I mean, c'mon.''

Lol

Tomorrow will be 50 years to the date and day.

I recall that the loudest boos from the crowd during the line-up intros were for Orioles' manager Earl Weaver.

First six batters in the NL lineup: Mays, Aaron, Torre, Stargell, McCovey, Bench.
First six in the AL lineup: Carew, Mercer, Yaz, F. Robinson, Cash, B. Robinson

Whomever approved those horrendous ASG uniforms should be excommunicated from baseball. They are an acid toss in the face of MLB tradition that goes back 78 years. The BEST part of the ASG was players on the field in their own uniforms. In fact, it was about the only remaining vestige of what used to be a great event, which has been converted into literal kabuki.

I didn?t watch. I listened to the early part on the radio then I went to my gym.

I didn?t watch, either. Just saw the highlights this morning on mlb.com. I haven?t watched the ASG since 2012 and only very sporadically since 1982.

Just saw the unis on a clip - yes, they look like crap.

Go back to the old way.

Wow?Los Angeles is scheduled to to host next year.

I hope we stay woke enough so that MLB don?t switch the venue.

The rules will prolly change several times before then. And I?m sure there?s dirt on the construction of Dodger Stadium that someone will dig up.

I was being sarcastic.

Who knows what events might transpire to derail the All-Star game at Dodger Stadium in 2022?

A lack of woke in Tinseltown ain?t likely to be it.

That would be like a sudden lack of stupid in the Beltway.
