Tigers have played 18 games and are 10 and 8 .
The significance of this is 18 games is 1/9 of the regular season, or the 1st inning.
9 times 18 equals 162.
Some things are good, some not so much, that is with players offensively/defensively and pitchers starters and relievers. Good Luck, bad luck, Worry, don't worry too early,
but we've seen this, (insert problem with player) before.
I am waiting to see how some of this plays out with players returning in the next 18 games, like Fister, and what moves the Tigers make with a couple/few players not performing at an acceptable level, yes inge among those few.
High expectations, stumbling around, it should work out as we end April and get into May.

I keep telling myself that the Tigers were 12-14 last year in April. And with the struggles they've had so far, they are still on pace for a 90-72 season.

There are concerns, but I think the second base controversy is way down the list. The biggest concerns are pitching. Once Fister returns and Scherzer straightens out, and hopefully both those things happen, the Tigers will get on a roll.

The Scherzer thing is a big if. He was on fire last April and part of May and then just fizzled. He has the stuff to be a 2 but he's too inconsistent. Him and Porcello, just never know what you're going to get during an outing.

I guess we all assume, guys like Avila and Peralta will get back to last years numbers but if they fall slightly, and BB and AJ don't improve enough and 2B play etc - the offense could be a sore spot.

I don't expect Avila or Peralta to match last year's numbers. I expect Peralta to be around his career numbers, which is well below last year's stats. Avila, I think, should have a little better OBP, but overall I'm not concerned with his start. Other than average, which probably won't be near last year's number, he seems OK.

Even at career norms, the offense will be solid. I think that's what fans can expect, at least I hope.

We just have too many rally enders IMO. I like the offense but there are many positions I'm not happy with, 2B, LF, DH and CF/RF can go either way. AJ and BB need to get on base for the duration.
