Did some one serous read my post?!.

The tax threshold seems to be around 203,000,000. Tigers at 111,725,000, and next season around 68,450. So plunging money in now would not be to big of a burden to over come in the future. Would you give 100 mill a year for Harper, Jackson / Jones / Pollock; Keuchel, Machado, Moustakas. That would be around 211,725,000, where in 2021 the threshold of 210,000,000 would set right in.
Now how to get them
Harper 20 mil + incentives
Machado 25 mil + incentives
Moustakas 15-18 mil +incentives
Keucher 15-18 mill + incentives Part of these incentives would be finish in top 10 in mvp cy young a mill, top 5, 2 mil, win one 5 mill. all a 10 mill signing bonus
Jackson 10 mill, jones/ Pollock 15 mill
Harper's contract would be like 20 mill a year for 12 years opt out after 2y and any year there after. Tigers could opt after 4 years should he be on the DL more than 100 games. Year after any MVP would raise to 25 mill. so he could make 35 the 2st season and 30 there after should he win many MVP's He could make 365 mil over 12 seasons but 12 mvps would be worth that. He could easily make 10+240 + 22+10 should just win one MVP= 282 Mill. Give Machado the same deal. Stay with the team for the long run and get a retirement bonus of 18 mil pan out over 18 years as well could make it 300 mill over 12 seasons. Contract be some what like Max Scherzer's.
Been thinking about this for some time. Not going to happen but it is an idea. But should I be the GM I try to make something like Basketball James deal work.
Also tell all are based on getting most of these players. Getting a decent 2B like Josh Harrison would be nice as well.

Some times I have to much time on my hands. But dreaming is for the off season.

Bourbon and Baseball BS Podcast: Spring Training is Underway. 81 minutes.
TigsTown

In the latest podcast, Mark and Paul get to enjoy the product of the podcast's new sponsor, Swan Brewing, and dive into their favorite vacation destinations as winter drags on. Back on topic, they dive into the controversy between front offices and players around free agency, and if the frustrations will result in a player strike in 2021, plus a deep dive into the top 100 prospects across baseball, and where the Tigers stack up, along with where the farm system stacks up.

More details on the topics covered;

The Bourbon and Baseball BS Podcast has a title sponsor - Swan Brewing is Lakeland's premier craft brewery and taproom. Check out their site at SwanBrewing.com, follow them on Twitter @Swanbrewing, and make sure to mention TigsTown when you visit to get 20% off your bill!

With frigid temperatures and plenty of snow across Michigan and Massachusetts, Paul and Mark talk about preferred vacation destinations, and producer Roger immediately gets everyone excited about planning a vacation to Spain.

Spring Training is underway, and a majority of the top free agents are still unsigned. Players, including former Tiger Justin Verlander are taking to social media to air their grievances, but who should those be directed at?

Will this frustration get so bad that we're headed for a strike when the current collective bargaining agreement ends in 2021? Paul is putting his money where his mouth is already even though it's two-plus years away.

The national Top 100's are out and the Tigers have two consensus top 100 prospects in Casey Mize and Matt Manning, plus a handful of others that made their way into a list or two. The lone surprise to Mark was the inclusion of last year's lone consensus top 100 arm, Franklin Perez.

The Tigers farm system thought to be middle of the pack has largely aligned with that. This far into the rebuild, is this where the Tigers should be, or should they be further along?

Wrapping up with a question from Twitter, long-time follower @frm710: We see analytics impacting all phases of the game, now impacting player contracts as well, while the positives are many, do you see any area of the game where analytics falls short? Old school vs new school how do you merge the two practices for best impact?
