Tigers All 50s squad

Thanks Ty,
The Tigers of my youth...although I have sparse memories of Kell and Dropo, and little of Johnny Groth as Tigers, The rest of them gave me thrills as a kid.
We all know about Kaline, as we do Bunning and then having several great seasons with the phillies, Kuenn was a line drive hitting machine with a chaw of tobacco stuck in his cheek. Charlie Maxwell for about a month, maybe a week or two longer, hit homeruns successive Sundays, off the top of my head I think in 1959.

Welcome. I noticed some weak positions in the fifties...1b and catcher. Definitley not RF though!

I was too young to remember anything about the Tigers teams of the 50s, but there were also quite a few weak positions on the Tigers teams during the 90s and the first half of the 00s too, unfortunately.

As well as on the mound..sigh.

:(

It was often difficult to root for those teams, and instead, I rooted more for the accomplishments and successes of some of their individual players. I still remember my first visit to CoPa, during its inaugural '00 season, and the alienated/distanced feeling that I had experienced, after decades of the obviously cozier and familiar confines of Tiger Stadium. I actually was a bit put off, if not totally indifferent to the plaques, statues, tributes, and memorials of former Tigers stars who were on display, b/c of the fact that none had ever played there.

Wondering what that 90s squad would look like! Fryman, Fielder, Easley, and...???

Clark, Higginson, Pena...uhh...well, maybe "some" was a bit optimistic...and a few would have been more accurate...haha.
