You'll be surprised. Players like to be on teams with friends and ones who are from the same country. Miggy is from Venezuela and I'm not sure who is. Maggs but he gone.

Izturis is from Venezuela. I have said from a couple years that the Tigers need to go after this guy. He could take the leadoff spot from Ajax. My only concern is his health. I would definitely wanna keep Santiago as a quality backup.

Another low OBP middle infielder. Not a great solution to second or the lead off spot. If he can duplicate his career year, that would be nice. Otherwise, decent glove and a .330 OBP with poor steal percentage.

Would rather have Cano. Can't always get what you want. Is he better than Raburn at 2nd? Probably. And a decent INF. And reasonably price, some of you are concerned about that.

id rather have johnson AND izturis. the latter can play 3rd better than 2nd, and hes absolutely an upgrade over cringe and kelly. sure izturis isnt the ideal choice, but based on who is available and the detritus we currently have at third and the void at 2nd, if we can get him for cheap we should.

his .339 career obp isnt great, but its definitely better than young, inge, kelly, santiago, etc.

Better to get both. Itzuris just might be a better deal than prado, from numbers and also not having to deal with/giveup/fleeced by braves.

But seriously, Itzuris could take over for Santiago and play a bit more if it comes to that with Little Buddy leaving, and Johnson could be a good most days 2B with pop, and do the lefty righty split with any one of a number of part timers; Kelly, Itzuris, shinebox, etc.

But the difference is that Kelly Johnson is a free agent, so he costs no players. Izturis is not as good and must be traded for.

You don't know what Izturis price is, so to say it's reasonable is premature. You do know that Johnson requires only money and not talent.

Never said he wasn't. And it really wasn't a Kelly Johnson Izturis comparison. It was more to say I wouldn't mind having him even his .330 OBP as you mentioned over what we currently have.

I like the idea. Izturis is not only a cool name, but an upgrade at a position of need.
