evidently what Leyland has been trying doesn't work. we need Jackson in Center field, but not at lead-off, he has no clue what he's doing at the plate and maybe put Raburn there (I don't like Raburn in the game at all, but you know Leyland is gonna start him at 2nd against a lefty). my lineup against C.C.

Raburn 2b I'd rather see Santiago, but this ain't gonna happen.
Ordonez RF
Young LF
BEAST 1B
Martinez DH
Avilla C
Peralta SS
Betemit 3B prolly won't happen either, but is a much better bat than cringe and still can make the routine plays.
Jackson too bad he can't be the designated centerfielder and have J.V. bat. Jackson is 0- for the series so far w/4 Ks. at least make some contact.

Leyland is old school. He has to have speed at the top of the lineup. Hopefully next year's starting 2nd baseman is a quality lead off hitter so we can move Jackson down toward the bottom of the order.

but what good is speed at the top, if he never gets on, he ain't even a good base stealer yet alone a baserunner. but yes your right, a quality lead-off batter that plays 2b would be nice.

Betemit doesn't hit lefties. Why start him against a tough lefty?

Inge doesn't hit anybody. Inge has a lifetime B.A. against CC of .190 and Betemit is 3 for 5 against him.

Excellent sample size to judge future performance.

If sample size doesn't concern you, here's some info you'll like..... Inge is hitting .500 in the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wilson Betemit is hitting .000!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!

Jackson 8,
Santiago 4,
Young 7,
Cabrera 3,
Martinez DH,
Ordonez 9,
Peralta 6,
Avila 2,
Inge 5.
Verlander is starting.

Shake it up Leyland style.

Maybe have the Yankee hitting coach work with Jackson. He worked wonders with Grandy who could never hit lefties.

I think the RF fence had more to do with than the Yanks hitting coach. He only hit .262.
