Spencer Torkelson has been struggling much of this season at the plate. He is hitting .153 in 32 games although he is tied for the lead in HRs (3) with Miggy and Jonathan Schoop. His average is the lowest of all the regular players.
Defensively, he is one of the few who is saving his team runs.
Concern over his hitting is being seen in Detroit given the request to Toledo that Kody Clemens start taking some reps at first base.
Should Tork be sent back down to AAA for a mental reset and re-adjustment in a setting that offers significantly less stress? Or should he stay in Detroit?
If he heads back to Toledo, the Tigers could bring up Clemens. They could also roll with Harold Castro as they did Monday night. And there is also Eric Haase who could pitch in.
