New night, new game. Let's forget last night.

Way to move Raburn up in the order Leyland.

Alex Avila out at least today and tomorrow with left knee/patella soreness. Not sure how serious.
I think it’s safe to say that Andy Dirks batting second is now more than mixing up the lineup. He’s in there again today, and again playing in left, with Delmon Young as the designated hitter.
With Alex Avila off, Gerald Laird gets the start behind the plate, and Ryan Raburn (3-for-4 off Kevin Millwood, for what that’s worth) moves up to sixth in the lineup. Interesting call on Avila, especially with lefty Jason Vargas going for Seattle tomorrow night in the series finale.

Tigers enter tonight's game 10-6 when leading after 7 innings as opposed to 77-0 last season. :/

Glad I fell asleep in the 4th inning last night.

Just popping in to say hi folks. Hope everything goes well tonight. I can't watch this offense and Leyland blunder through another game. Not good for my blood pressure. Need at least a two week break. I've got a job interview and church duties and I can't afford to be in a pissy mood all the time.

I'm hoping to have my son's lap top so i can lay on the couch for the game... Hopefully Mudhen will wake up and at least move the line-up along.. I need to do some ebay crap before the game.

Was it me or did Dotel's eyes look really freaking bloodshot last night..Maybe he was tired.

Holy crap. Josh Hamilton 5-5, 4 HRs, 8 RBIs vs. Baltimore tonight. Why the hell are they even pitching to him?

I don't get that either. If a guy like Josh Hamilton hits 2 homers in a game, you certainly don't give him a chance to hit 3 and you absolutely don't give him a shot at 4. He's not some no name scrub. What a night for him.

And Cleveland scores 3 in the bottom of the 8th to tie it up with the white sox 3-3.

Verlander has gone 1-4 with a 4.93 ERA at Safeco Field -- including a three-start losing streak.

Verlander, though, is 11-0 with a 2.70 ERA over his last 12 starts in opposing ballparks dating to July. He went 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA in two meetings with the Mariners last season, both of which came at home.

The veteran right-hander is 4-5 with a 4.05 ERA in 15 starts against the Tigers, most recently facing them in 2010.

Millwood has allowed a combined 12 runs -- 11 earned -- in two home starts spanning 9 1/3 innings. Opponents are batting .395 against him at Safeco compared to .250 on the road.
