I mean, what the hell? There were pitches right down the middle being called balls in the late innings. This game was a joke because of the ump.

On that DP, that was borderline interference on the Mariner runner at second. He definitely stopped in the path of the ball when he should have been running to third and long gone. The 2BU waved it clean, but I think it was interference. In that case, it's an automatic DP.
Was the play in front of him? If it was, say a GB to SS or 3B, I could see a runner stopping and its okay to do so.
It's not okay to stop, unless the ball passes in front of the runner, and he's clearly avoiding contact with the ball. Looked like to me that the runner willfully stopped in the path of the ball in order to block the fielders' view of it. It's a force play. He has no reason to stop in the base path in this instance. Had he been running at contact, he'd have been long gone. I'd have called him out, and the batter as well.
Actually surprised that no Tigers' coach took up that argument, given the circumstances.
I didn't see the game so I was asking.
mlb.com has the video. Interested in your opinion.
Couldn't begin to know where to look.
Its legal. Might seem a bit shady but it was hit directly at him and runner made sure the ball didn't hit him. That play will never get called for interference.
I disagree. Figgins stopped in the path of the ball. And then he continued to third.
