Tigers @ Twins game #16 April 26, 2022

It's just one game but...

Something poetic about Baez hitting that go ahead 3 run bomb against and 0 for 4 (3 Ks) Correa and the Twins.

And yet sadly the Tigers lost. Baseball just isn?t fair sometimes. Seems like all Detroit teams are under a cloud of suck right now.
Hopefully it changes soon.

Tigers can?t seem to beat the central division teams at all.

Lost game
Soto 2 bb first two batters.

Grossman did not take a great route. Should have had it .

Hasse screwed it up. Hold it or maybe try to get the guy at 2nd.

This outfield needs Riley bad. Even though we only have 6 errors which is pretty low we have only turned 5 double plays which is last in the American League.

Twins 5 - Tigers 4: A lousy way to lose.
The Tigers took the late lead, but defensive confusion and an errant throw threw the game away as well.

Tigers throw away opener with 'ugly ending' against Twins, spoil B?ez's late heroics.

Detroit Tigers on wrong side of bizarre play, lose in ninth at Minnesota Twins, 5-4.

Today, another opportunity for readers to discuss the hottest topics in a forum where thoughtful dialog and a variety of opinions are welcomed.

Let?s create some running conversational threads. And for those of you still going into offices, here?s a question to take with you ? or use via Zoom calls ? as you talk to your co-workers.

Here is today?s hot topic.

Through Sunday?s game, the Detroit sit at 6 wins/9 losses for a .400 W/L%. They are a half game out of last place in the AL Central.

Out of 5 series so far, the Tigers have won only 1 against the last-place Royals.

How concerned should fans be at this point?

Has the shortened spring training been a factor? The number of injuries?
All the new players not yet gelled into a cohesive team?

Or have expectations simply been set too high? Is A. J. Hinch still in the process of putting all the pieces together?

What do you think?
How concerned are you about the Tigers' poor start?

1. Too early to say.

2. Not concerned at all.

3. Somewhat concerned.

4. Very concerned.

Every AL Central team may argue -- credibly -- that it has a legitimate chance to win the division. The 1st-place #Twins have 8 losses. The other four teams have 9. Parity reigns. I expect it will be that way all season.

Of note: The Tigers have a 3.22 team ERA, best of any AL Central club. Meanwhile, the Detroit lineup has managed only 7 HR, second fewest in MLB. When the bats get going, they will look like a playoff team.

Eduardo Rodriguez, that goes down as a quality start:
6IP 4H 3R 2BB 6 SO
5 swings and misses. 102 pitches. First Tigers pitcher to hit 100 pitches on the season.
