Turner vs. angels.
Tigers haven't faced richards. Lefties are batting .326 (29-for-89) against him, compared to .231 (12-for-52) for right-handed hitters.

Jacob Turner seeks first career win, Detroit Tigers try to extend season-best home winning streak.
Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland told reporters Monday that he's noticed much improvement in right-hander Jacob Turner's ability to hold baserunners.
We'll see if that holds true tonight.
Turner will make his second start this season when the Tigers continue their four-game series against the Los Angeles Angels, who own an AL-best 72 stolen bases.
Led by rookie speedster Mike Trout and his 30 stolen bases, the Angels will likely increase their aggression on the basepaths against Turner, who allowed five stolen bases in his first career start.
Winless in four career starts, Turner gave up one earned run in five innings pitched against the St. Louis Cardinals in his only start with the Tigers this season.
He made his major-league debut last season, giving up two runs in 5 1/3 innings against the Los Angeles Angels in a spot start in late July.
Turner, who is 4-2 with a 3.16 ERA in 10 starts for Toledo, was recalled early Tuesday and will fill the turn vacated by Drew Smyly, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list last Saturday. He's expected to remain in the rotation until Smyly returns.
The Tigers are looking to extend their season-best home winning streak to seven -- a feat they haven't matched since a nine-game run June 2-18, 2010.
Quintin Berry, who is coming off a three-hit game, will start in left field and Brennan Boesch, who is hitting .419 with two homers and nine RBIs over his last eight games, will bat sixth and start in right field.

Hope he holds runners better like he did in his last start..It was way better then last year!!!

Like tonight's lineup. Wonder how Fielder 3rd and Cabrera 4th Boesch 5th and Young 6th would do against right handed pitching thoe? But the way it's set up tonight fits Peralta and Avila better IMO as it adds depth all the way down to the 9th spot. and with Santiago there it like having a lead off man there this way as well.

I was at his start vs the angels last year. Socia was pissing his pants the way they were running on him last year.

I hope he has a solid game this is a lineup that will kill you when you get behind so if he can stay ahead of guys in the count he should be ok. Hope the O shows up again tonight. They have started swinging the bats like most thought they should lately.

I heard that RP was something like 16 of 18 first pitch stikes last night? It was amazing how he let that one inning really get away from him.

Leyland said Villarreal available today. Would have been last night, too, but Leyland chose to play it safe.

Leyland said he wouldn't use Valverde today, would play closer by ear. "Hope I have to make a tough decision".

rut roh better get below up Jim, This turner kid isn't very good.
