The Tigers announced the following roster moves:
*Reinstated C Eric Haase from the 10-day injured list

*Recalled RHP Jason Foley from Triple A Toledo

*Designated RHP Erasmo Ram?rez for assignment

*Tigers have released 1B Renato Nunez.

Some Tigers updates from the complex league:
the good.
Jose De La Cruz 293/387/459
Danuerys De La Cruz 277/408/482

the WIP..
Issac Pacheco .175/319/263
Adinso Reyes 161/248/305 58 SO 118 AB
Roberto Campos 229/297/443 7 HR 12/39 BB/SO
Pedro Martinez Jr 132/211/211

Alex Lange..for all the great power stuff..has a
.638 XSLG
.466 XWOBA
97.2 EV
against his 4S

.507 xSLG against his slider
good stuff..thats getting crushed far too often.

I'm excited to see what Alex Faedo brings to the table in 2022..his rehab will be at the magic 16 months during March 2022..he should be able to throw in spring training...and have some quality Chris Fetter time..
Brandon Day and I were discussing this a little bit yesterday..I see him still as a SP..Brandon see's a RP profile..I love his aptitude and ablity to manipulate the baseball..excited to see how they optimize him.

Bill Freehan has a higher bREF WAR than Yadier Molina.

Highest team WAR totals by rookies (R/9 version used for pitchers):
8.6 Rays
8.2 Tigers
7.5 Reds
6.3 Marlins
5.0 White Sox

What pitchers have led all of MLB in strikeouts over a 14-year period? Going all the way back to 1966, only these:
Nolan Ryan
Roger Clemens
Randy Johnson
CC Sabathia
Justin Verlander
Max Scherzer

If Torkeson doesn't start allowing the ball away to get deep and shoot it to right center and RF..he won't be here till 2023..

Much more informed Tigers fans. What are your thoughts on pursuing Chris Taylor in free agency after this season to fill the shortstop position in 2022 and going forward?

https://motorcitybengals.com/2021/08/27/detroit-tigers-akil-baddoo-adjust/
Akil Baddoo walked 24 times in May and June. He has walked just 5 times since. What?s up with that?
Detroit Tigers: Akil Baddoo needs to adjust.

He is probably the kind of player the Tigers should be looking for. Makes about $8M this year in LA. Probably take 4 years $64M to get him??

Tigers and blue jays are all tied up at 1 going to the bottom of the 8th inning,

Miggy with the RBI,

Manning with an excellent start; 6 innings, 1 run 6 hits, a walk, and 5 K's,

Prior to Victor Reyes tonight, the last Tiger to hit a go-ahead inside-the-park home run in the 8th inning-or-later?

Lou Whitaker on July 13, 1984 in the 11th inning vs. Minnesota.
(via @EliasSports)

Reyes also became the first MLB player in the Expansion Era to have a pinch-hit go-ahead inside-the-park home run.

Ben Oglivie is the only other Tigers player in the Expansion Era with a pinch-hit inside-the-park home run (6/2/1976).

Record: 62-67.

Matt Manning posts the best start of his career. Victor Reyes delivers a pinch-hit inside-the-park home run. Gregory Soto notches his 16th save.

Detroit is 53-43 since May 8 and 22-16 since the All-Star break.

THE SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

The Saturday Survey offers the opportunity to weigh in on a relevant topic.
So here is a poll to gauge the pulse of our passionate readers.

Today, we center the discussion on the centerfield position and how Derek Hill compares to another Tiger who used to play there.

As always, we welcome your comments, so please vote and then submit your reasons (4 sentences max!) for how you voted in the usual comment box. Don?t forget to come back later and view the results!

Remember the days when JaCoby Jones used to roam the wide expanse of centerfield at Comerica Park?

He was considered the Tigers best outfielder by a wide margin. In fact, he was one of the best centerfielders in the league.

But he constantly struggled at the plate and was continually hampered by injuries along the way. Since then, he has been designated for assignment, cleared waivers and sits on the outside looking in when it comes to the 40-man roster.

Derek Hill is a similar player to JaCoby Jones. Both players possess great speed, cover lots of ground in center and have made highlight reel catches.

So what is Derek Hill?s Achilles heel? His offense ? just like Jones.

Meanwhile, Hill receives high praise for his play in centerfield and is considered an important outfield piece for the future.

Below is the question we need answered.

In what way is Derek Hill the better choice in centerfield over what the Tigers? had in JaCoby Jones?

1. Hill isn't - Jones was the better player.

2. Hill is a better athlete.

3, Hill has more speed.

4. They are the same player; Hill is just younger.

5. Other
