good job people
Skubal 0.6 WAR
Mize 0.3 WAR

fangraphs WAR does not like Mize.

Baseball reference WAR does.

If the idiotic rhetoric about David Chadd recommending Jackson Jobe over Jack Leiter isn?t dead after last night.. just fire everyone today.

Locked On Detroit Tigers Podcast: Defense Matters, Shortstops Matter, Detroit Tigers All Star voting. 42 minutes.

Scott dives into the Detroit Tigers team Defensive Runs Saved and how important defense is. Then we break down the shortstop position and how vital it is to sign one this MLB Free Agency. Lastly, we breakdown the All Star voting and the upcoming series against the St Louis Cardinals.

Spencer Turnbull is expected to begin a throwing program this week in Lakeland, A.J. Hinch said.

All Star I'd go with Mize or Schoop.

As a side note with a good eye like Grossman has why does he k so dang much.

I did read that both Mize and Skubal's spin rate have both declined since the announcement they were going to check on the sticky stuff. Though Skubal has pitched better in June, Mize has pitched worse. Though Mize hasn't given up more than 3 runs in a game.. But his BA, OBP and Slugging is way up this month.

Tigers lead 6 - 0 in the bottom of the 4th inning,

Schoop with a 3 run homer, that's his 14th of the year,

Skubal 82 pitches 1 hit 2 walks 3 K's,

All Star I'd go with Mize or Schoop.

As a side note with a good eye like Grossman has why does he k so dang much.

Funny I was just coming here to post this, but didn't consider Mize. I figured Schoop would be the lone Tiger All Star.

Shame Skubal couldn?t get 1 more out so he would have a shot at the win.

Schoop tied with 9 homers for the month of June in the mlb and I think I heard he leads non in hits for the month..

Tarik Skubal?s night was short and a little shaky, but the bats more than made up for it.

Red-hot Jonathan Schoop homers again as Tigers beat Cardinals, 8-2.
Mlive

Schoop has hit nine of his 14 home runs this year in the month of June. He?s hitting .346 (53-for-153) since May 11.

Tigers starter Tarik Skubal wasn?t particularly sharp, failing to get out of the fifth inning despite throwing 97 pitches.

But relievers Kyle Funkhouser, Bryan Garcia, Buck Farmer and Daniel Norris combined to pitch 4 1/3 scoreless innings to finish the game.

Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera left the game after four innings with calf tightness. He had slid hard into second base earlier in the game, and Tigers manager A.J. Hinch erred on the side of caution in getting him out of the game after he struggled to run down the line on a groundout in the bottom of the fourth.

Hinch said he doesn?t believe the injury is serious. Cabrera is considered day-to-day.
