Tigers vs. Cubs August 26, 2020 Game 29

I was in the kitchen expecting to come back to Tigers live I walked into the single to make it 7-5. That ball Rizzo hit is a homer in most parks. Glad we were at home.
 
Maybe we can trade schoop for some prospects and resign him in the off season ? Is that allowed I forgot ? Is he blocking any kids at 2nd in the tigers organization ? He is such a gamer. He likes playing every day.

yes, it can be done, and it has been. The Yankees traded Aroldis Chapman to the Cubs in 2016 for prospects then re-signed him in 2017. FYI, Gleyber Torres was part of that trade.

Of course, it is easier for the Yankees to pull something like this off because players actually want to play for the Yankees!
 
I’d trade him and ask him if he wants Detroit to make a run at him in the off season. Now if he goes to a winner that could be a issue. Everyone wants to play for a winner. Still I really like the guy. He is only 28 I think.

If they do have a trade partner it makes sense that they would be in contention for the playoffs. As far as a deal ahead of time saying that they would re-sign him next year...not sure if that is legal or not.
 
Can't imagine they'd get much. Teams have a hard time trading much for a 2 month rental. 1 month rental or less, just not sure.
