Get StartedDamn miggy is batting .183 now
Looks like although Miggy is likely to be a first ballot HoFer, his only WS championship will be with the Marlins in his rookie season. Absent the unlikelihood of a trade to a contender during his last 4 years remaining, or the Tigers becoming one in '23 and/or '24. 21 seasons and only one WS in '12 since then, that he himself didn't distinguish in.
Really his only truly outstanding postseason series was vs rangers in '11 ALCS, which was the only one that he hit more than one homer (three) and had 4 doubles while slashing .400/.556/1.050 in a 6 game series loss. Out of 8 postseason series since joining the Tigers in '08 @ age 25, Cabrera has averaged 2 XBH, being a homer and a double...not very impressive for an 11x All Star, 2x AL MVP, and the only AL Triple Crown winner since Yaz in '67.
Are you saying he under preformed as a Tiger? You'd be so wrong. He also had nice postseason seasons with Detroit. Not just vs Texas. Check out Kershaw's post-season numbers, now that is underwhelming.
What were your expectations? This team wasn't just going to win something. Its fortunate they're just playing the central. But no Twins or Cubs yet. At months end they're be fighting for last place with KC.
It?s a 60 game sprint. Show at least that you care about winning. There is no reason to hold kids who are decent in Toledo doing simulation games against shit competition when your staff is this bad. That 9-7 start should have been 11-5 or better against Kansas City, Pittsburgh and the Reds. Who knows with expanded playoffs maybe you get lucky. Now I agree it?s a long shot but this is one really bad rotation Al has trotted out there.
I'm not a fan of teams holding back players that are clearly better than the current crop strictly for money reasons. You know who else doesn't like it? The players
You know who does like it, the organization.

Probably why players have always lined up to come to Detroit
