With a day off tomorrow, why is Peralta on the bench? This is the perfect time to rip out Cleveland's heart.

not as aggressive of a lineup that we've been seeing lately, but with JV, it'll prolly be enough.

Back on Sunday and Monday, Leyland said he would rest regulars, and also put lefthanded bats in the lineup. mastersons' splits dictate lefty bats have more success. It is a weak lineup outside of the middle of the order, but also it seems like Peralta was slumping some. Before a game either monday or tuesday he was 7 for 37 or something like that and chasing low and/or low and away. Later in the game, you never know, masterson out and he can come in, pinchhit and move Santiago over to 2B.

Smokes is going lefty heavy against Masterson which makes sense. I think righties are hitting something like .216 and lefties were in the .270ish range.

It's been dark and dreary all day, but still no rain that I've seen.

Nice day to rip the heart of of Cleveland.... It would be nice if thew twins would decide to show up..

According to Gamecast it looks like a really small strikezone today.

Tigers 1st inning,

Jackson strikes out swinging,

Rhymes taking 3 and 1, low for a walk,

Dirks strike call on the corner, fastball tailsback inside corner strike, swings and misses slider low,

Cabrera takes outside, fastball foul tipped, slider outside, chases low and grounds to second for a forceout,

girlymanmasterson with 15 pitches.

We'll see with JV. manning on the indians feed already whining about pitches.

I hope AJax hasn't lost his MoJo. Having him on fire at the top of the lineup was huge.

I know it won't happen but I would love to see the Tigers score a few early runs, JV be his usual dominant self and then after 5 innings have the rain come and the game called. Maybe it would be a way to limit JV's pitches without worrying about the bullpen. He could get about 8 Ks in 5 and that way he wouldn't have to worry about falling behind King Felix in the K race.

Verlander 1st inning,

carrerra shows bunt low strike called a ball, fastball low, fastball strike call, again, swings and misses,

no strikes low at or just above the knees that sequence,

fuckudome fastball high, changeup strike call, fly to left and Dirks has it,

assdrivelcabrera fastball outside, changeup outside, checkswing strike and ump says no, strike call on the corner, fastball fouled back full count, fastball low swings and misses,

Verlander with 14 pitches.

Gamecast had all 3 of those 1st pitches to Assdribble as strikes.

Tigers 2nd inning,

Martinez fastball strike call, sinker low, slider on/off the corner, f'n ump, swings and misses a slider inside,

Avila takes a fastball low, fastball high, outside and f'n hotdogcatchersantana pulls it in a foot, strike call, grounder up the middle play made,

Betemit fastball strike call, fastball inside, fastball at his feet jumps away, fly down left in the corner fair/foul and fielder slides and doesn't get it, sinker low, grounder to first,

masterson with 30 pitches.

I saw that Jeff, well hopefully it gets better or evens out with ump.

I'm only watching gamecast right now, but what is up with this zone. There have been pitches in the exact same spot being called balls and strikes.
