Tigers vs. indians Game Thread September 7

Shelley Duncan was the issue today...two bad pitches to him and he made JV pay. Everyone else he pretty much owned, as per usual...

You don't question JV. Don't question Miggy or Mart. Don't question Valverde, Peralta or Avila. They've all performed this season. Get on guys like Piece of shit Cringe or Raburn, Penny and a few others.

Nice win.

Just a short comment that will ruffle feathers I'm sure......

But digging back through the pages here, I see a lot of people who never threw a baseball past HS Varsity questioning what pitch Verlander threw in what count.

Seriously? The guy is the best pitcher in all MLB this year, and has the ERA lead in the AL, I think I'll trust his judgement, even if he's wrong from time to time.

I mean FFS, would you tell Picasso what color to paint with or Rodin what stone to carve?

Verlander is an artist, and MLB is his canvas.

No ruffled feathers here Mi_Thumb. I am guilty as are many other of our posters at times, getting frustrated with a pitcher or position player on a pitch or a play at bat or in the field.
I think, well at least for me today, the second homerun and the pitch (fastball) the ultimategoonduncan hit out, that was my only "bitching" moment for JV's day. I haven't gone to see if a post game webvideo yet or read any post game comment from regarding that pitch was made, if he was to comment on it.
But you are right, you know if JV doesn't give up 4 total runs with that second 2 run homer, we are talking about a 3 hit performance.

Well, in hindsight, it was easy for me to say because I was not here sitting through it, like all you were, experiencing frustrations.

But just like Mitch said, you have to look at the talent on this team and be thankful, plenty of people deserve criticism, but hard to criticize JV or some of the guys who are playing out of their minds, and leading us to a division title.

Been at work all day and night so far and had no chance to look at that particular pitch, but the sports shows say Avila was set up low and away and the pitch ran high. Could be he just missed his spot.

That was precisely my point. He's human. He'll make mistakes. He won and otherwise pitched a pretty good game statistically, except for the anomoly of 4 runs with only 3 hits.

Today should be a day to celebrate not gripe. We've put a few nails into the Indians'/White Sox's coffins. It's great.
