Tigers vs. Orioles July 30, 2021 Game 106

Man, I was listening to Jim and Danny boy on the radio when Miggy stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and the Tigers down by three.

422 foot blast caught at the wall.

The call was sure exciting.

Radio calls are like that because you can't see where it's going.

Yeah, I saw the video later.

Off the bat it looked like a pretty well struck ball - well, it was - when the camera cut to the center fielder, he looked like he was going to track it down- which he did.

And not really quite to the wall.

I remember as a kid, radio was pretty much all we had. and when watching the replay later I'm like that wasn't even close.

It's back, back - CAUGHT.

THE SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

The Saturday Survey offers the opportunity to weigh in on a relevant topic.
So here is a poll to gauge the pulse of our passionate readers.

Today, we center the discussion on what the Tigers did at the trade deadline.

As always, we welcome your comments, so please vote and then submit your reasons (4 sentences max!) for how you voted in the usual comment box. Don?t forget to come back later and view the results!

The July trade deadline has come and gone. The Detroit Tigers traded 1 player, Daniel Norris, for a pitching prospect. Norris would have been a free agent at the end of the year.

Jonathan Schoop was widely rumored as a top trade candidate. He will be a free agent as well and recently hired Scott Boras for what we all know is an attempt to receive a multi-year, top dollar contract. If the Tigers don?t offer him a 1-year qualifying offer of $18.9 million, he will walk in 2 months while the Tigers get nothing in return.

The reliever market was very hot, however there were no offers for any Tigers although there was some interest from 2 teams in acquiring Michael Fulmer.

On top of all this, a national report came out earlier this week dissecting Al Avila?s skill as a trade negotiator. Out of his 10 deadline trades since taking over the GM role, only 1 was deemed to be successful based upon stats.

How do you feel about what the Tigers did ? or didn?t do about the trade deadline? Given what you know, are you happy that there was only 1 trade ? or should they have done more or less?

Are you happy that there was only one trade or should they have done more or less?

1. Happy with the results.

2. Should have done more.

3. Shouldn't have done anything.
