Rather than rearrange the lineup he just lazily places a player in the spot of the player they're replacing.

It's how you get somebody like Clete Thomas batting 3rd.

Dirks up, CB Bucknor as the homeplateump, 3 and 1, and it's lined to center for a single,

Cabrera takes an offspeed low, takes a fastball strike, drilled to left center and bangs off the wall for an rbi double as Dirks scores,

Tigers lead 1 - 0,

Fielder takes a curve down near his feet, fly to deep left and it's another rbi double as Cabrera scores,

Tigers lead 2 - 0,

Young now he's taking more first pitches that are/is a strike call swings at a slider away and grounds to short,

Avila takes a curve low, curve called strike, slider low and in the dirt blocked, fastball way up and in pitcher/catcher crossed up and it hits the ump bucknor gets away and Fielder to third, wild pitch, getting checked out by Tigers trainer Kevin Rand, that had to hurt, low again for a walk,

20 pitches for pirates pitcher so far,

Boesch takes a fastball outside, pitching coach out to talk, swings and misses the curve inside corner, fouls off another curve, swings and misses another curve, keeps chasing the low slop,

24 pitches for pirates pitcher,
