JV is probably the front runner for the Cy Young right now...with Darvish. JV is 1st in all of baseball in IP, K's, WHIP...2nd in ERA in the AL.

Just got back from the game - Jesus that place was going nuts when he got into the 8th hitless.

He was absolutely filthy today - his curve ball made those guys look foolish. I was bummed that I didn't get to witness a piece of history tonight, but I still appreciate the game that he threw, he was just as good tonight, if not better, than he was his previous 2 no hitters.

Funny how much the game has changed. Verlander should have a lot more since pitch counts mean nothing to him but this was his 16th complete gme of his career. Dwight Gooden had 16 complete games in his 1985 season (2nd season).

I went with my GF and she wanted to leave early because she had to work at 7am tomorrow. I had to explain to her what was going on and the she changed her mind lol..but if I didn't tell her she would have never known she was watching something special tonight.

This isn't an intended knock on your girlfriend at all so don't take it that way..and I think baseball is different because it's more of a hang out atmosphere...but this is why I actually don't like to go to sporting events. Too many people at the game really don't know what's going on or aren't there because they really like sports. They are there just to be there. I remember a couple of weeks ago there were 2 girls sitting in the front row directly behind home plate. They were looking down staring at their cell phones the entire time.

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said he told his team that's where the bar is set after they saw Strasburg pitch the other day. And Verlander just put it at another level.

Too many people at the game really don't know what's going on or aren't there because they really like sports. They are there just to be there. Yea I understand, I love my GF but she really doesn't care about sports at all and that is the one thing that really bothers me about her. Ive been trying to get her to actually follow sports for 4 years now, but it's an uphill battle

Nice job guys... I went out and picked up the game in the 6th and watched till the... Verlander pitched great..Hopefully they can roll the rest of the weekend... Damn he had that guy way down in the count too....
