With so much turmoil in the ranks of the starting rotation, A.J. Hinch has been pushing all kinds of buttons in order to get through a 9-inning game.
The status of the starting rotation is striking.

Matthew Boyd is still out and is not expected to return until sometime in August.
Spencer Turnbull is gone for the season with Tommy John surgery coming soon.
Jose Urena is on the IL with a groin injury.

This leaves Casey Mize on an innings limit. Tarik Skubal will soon be limited as well. Matt Manning has not yet been limited but will be at some point. Wily Peralta has been the team?s best starter over a number of weeks, and Tyler Alexander, who will be making his first start tonight.

So it begs a question. Michael Fulmer has plenty of experience as a starter along with time spent last season partnering with Daniel Norris to begin games. So, should he be considered to help the rotation?

You make the call.

Should Michael Fulmer be considered for help in the starting rotation?

1. No - he should stay in the late inning relief role.

2. Yes - he should be an opener as part of the rotation.

3. Yes - he should be prepped to be a starter.
