Tigers vs. redsox Game Thread August 1

Did I hear Dickerson right? Cook has given up more HR's then he has K's?

How does this guy still have a job?

And of course, he shuts the Tigers down.

/sigh

He strikes out less than a batter per 9 IP.

There is no excuse for them not to knock him around.

Yeah, 4 k's in 41 innings. 6 homers. Doesn't even seem possible.

yes. 40 innings 6 homers 4 walks 4 k's.

and that ellsbury ground ball that hit the first base bag for a double is the kind of bad/no luck the Tigers have had in fenway.

Rick pitching more inside to lefty batters, with FB at 94/96.

walks agon.

His stats are pretty interesting

40 IP
6 HR
4 K
4 BB

His BABIP is extremely low at .232 this season.

Odd.

The old pitching rule-of-thumb (no pun intended) is a pitcher that strikes out less then 4.5 batter per 9 innings pitched cannot have sustained success at the major league level.

That's just too many balls in play, not matter how low his BABIP is.

Well he should level out eventually this season (or maybe not). Maybe the Red Sox have nobody else? Who knows

We really need to sweep Cleveland now after this disaster.

Cleveland has flat out sucked since the ASB.

6-12
5 of those wins are by 2 runs or less

But I have this strange feeling that Cleveland is suddenly going to get out of their slump this weekend.

Come on Tiger's!! This ****er has given up 11 runs in his last 8 innings!!

another ave at best non overpowering arm shutting us down, what else is new

sucky stat of the day; GIDP No. 98 on the season for the Tigers, tying them for third in MLB with the Dodgers, five back of both Baltimore, Minnesota.

There's a break, Jhonny with the bobble catch and throw,

get the midget out.

Ricky looking good so far, is it too much as ask to GET HIM A GODDAMNED RUN OR TWO?
