Tigers vs. rockies Game Thread June 15

...

God Colorado is worse with bases loaded than we are.

Two soft dribblers.

Crosby stops throwing strikes to scutaro,

jones out to talk and imparts pearls of wisdom,

cargo 2 strikes, drops on the inside corner ball, curve inside, ball full count, ground foul, in the dirt walk, bases loaded,

Marte warming up early,

FFcruddyer strike call, changeup high, curve swings and misses, grounder foul, lined foul, grounder back to Crosby throws home and Holaday forces him out,

roidsgiambi 3 and 0, fastball strike call, grounder to Fielder throws home for the force and back to Fielder for the double play, phew....

everybody exhale,

Crosby with 59 pitches, 37 for strikes,

2 - 0.

Why? Below has been great in the pen.

He has.

But you use the best option available, and Below is clearly better than Crosby, and who knows maybe even Smyly at this point.

Also Below was wasted many times by coming into games that were already blown out.

Crosby is surviving on odd double plays. Follows up 3-5-1 with 3-2-3.

He wasn't wasted, he saved a pen from getting exhausted.

Toledo's catcher gets a double, and Jackson doubles to score him.

And now Miggy double to score Ajax...free doubles for everyone!

Yes Mitch, but anyone could have played mop-up.

Below has shown the stuff to be very effective, we're not making maximum use of his talents having him in the LR role.

As I expected...the Tigers are starting to feast on Rockies pitching.

Actually looking at his numbers, outside a couple early games - most of the time he came in later - 6th-7th inning. And quite a few close ball games.

Tigers hitting 3rd inning,

Holaday leads off with a double,

Jackson takes low, takes outside, lines it down the leftfield line for an rbi double, 10 of his last 18 hits have gone for extra bases,

2 - 1,

Boesch first pitch fly to rightfield,

Cabrera line drive down left for an rbi double,

tied up,

Fielder takes low, curve drops in on the inside corner, grounder foul by first, curve low and away, now time catcher out to talk, line drive single to center and Cabrera runs through fatdaddy lamont's stop sign and slides in and scores, Fielder to second on the throw,

Tigers lead 3 - 2,

pitching coach out to talk,

Young in typical dumb shit style swings at first pitch slop and fouls it back, fastball up and in, grounder to short,

Peralta takes high, grounder to short,

francis with 48 pitches.

Crosby gets helton out on strikes? jeff nelson the ump helps the Tigers on that one,

I bet Delmon would be more effective if he never swung at a pitch.

This is a little bit off topic...but does anyone else buy the Strasburg innings limit garbage?

Cuz I don't for a second...they were just mentioning it on MLB network. You can't tell me that if they've got a shot at the division on the last week of the season he's going to be warming the bench.
