Bad news on Dirks. Shit.
DETROIT -- When asked by a group of reporters about the status of Detroit Tigers outfielder Andy Dirks, manager Jim Leyland kept his answer short.
"He’s not doing too good," he said Friday.
Tigers head athletic trainer Kevin Rand elaborated on Dirks' right ankle injury, but his update seemed to support Leyland's response.
It's not looking too good.
Dirks was eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Friday, but -- according to Rand -- the 26-year-old has reached "a sticking point" as he continues to recover from Achilles tendinitis.
"Andy's kind of reached a point, kind of a sticking point where it's bothering him to make one particular move that kind of irritates him," Rand said.
