Last regular season game of the year before the 2012 Playoffs. We have lived and died with this team through everything game after game; good, great, meh, or bad; lineups, bullpens, hitting w/risp+basesloaded, defense, you name it, and survived.
We also have seen first hand game after game, the greatest Tigers hitter since...well idk, Miguel Cabrera is just a better hitter than even Kaline with his power, I never saw Greenberg, and certainly not Cobb, Heilmann, etc. imo Miggy has the Power of Hank, and Cecil Fielder, and the high average of say a Magglio, Kaline, Cobb. Miggy is a once in a lifetime/generation hitter.
and we have arguably the greatest Tigers Pitcher in the making with Justin. Verlander is the best Tigers pitcher in the last 50/60 years, and that is with all due respect to Bunning, Lary, Lolich, Morris, or any other.
Two Hall of Fame bound players spending their careers with our Tigers, it doesn't get any better than that, unless they help bring another World Series Title to Detroit.

Regular lineup aside from Kelly replacing Young.

Weird, Dickerson said yesterday that Leyland told him Holaday was going to start at C.

I hope AJ can get his average to .300. Gonna be tough, maybe 3 hits.

Good to see Scherzer starting, I hope that he is healthy and ready for the playoffs.

Great dialogue on Cabrera, it's truly an honor to watch him play. I hope to see him and Verlander retire as Tigers 10 plus years down the road. May Ilitch live past 100 years old, so that the funding will be there to keep these amazing players on my favorite team.

"@Tom_Gage: #Tigers Scherzer to warm up at same time as Marte - if "there's any flaw" in Scherzer, said Leyland, Marte will start."

That would be sweet, 1st at bat, hits it in the seats, goes into the dugout and stays there.

Hamilton is most likely done batting unless Texas bats around in the 9th.

weaver pitches one inning and is taken out.. pussy.. trying to save his era.

What if he hit a 2-run homer? That would mess things up.

Then I'll just say he had 140+ ribi's to make it easy on myself. :) His at bats tonight will depend on what he does in his 1st AB. If he gets a hit he'll get another at bat. If he doesn't, Leyland will most likely pull him...maybe he'll give him 2 since we'll already know how Trout did in his first few AB's. But I cannot see Miggy really getting more than 2 AB's tonight...unless he homers in those first 2 AB's. Even then Leyland will probably sit him.

I heard Weaved ripped his labia which is why he got taken out.

A Cy Young winner and Triple Crown winner in back to back seasons. No franchise is more deserving of this than Detroit after all the misery the franchise and fans have endured over the years.

Big congrats to Miggy on a historic and truly unbelievable feat!!!

Now I just hope the Yankees win so Grandy doesn't get more chances tomorrow.
