Plan tonight is Scherzer will pitch 5 innings, then the equivalent of another two innings in the bullpen when Fister comes in.

As Leyland said Sunday, Cabrera gets the night off.
Miguel Cabrera was taking groundballs at 3B during early hitting..likely only for World Series, but still, gotta love the creative thinking this time of year brings.
Cabrera has started 383G at 3B in career, almost all in '07-'08 w/ Marlins, .951FP (lg avg is .955).
Leyland: We have to prepare for everything.

The last time Cabrera played 3B was 14 games for the Tigers in 2008. 5 errors and a .900 fielding percentage.....and that was probably 20 lbs ago.

I don't think so. Do you remember the 2006 world series. IF the Tigers make it to the WS and put Miggy at 3B and V-Mart at 1B every single NL player will be bunting. Between Miggy, V-Mart and the Tigers pitchers trying to field a bunt....an NL team could score 10 runs without swinging a bat!

Young should sit one out too, if only to get Maggs who's been pretty decent since being benched, a game.

Not like his defense in right could be worse then Young's in left...

Yeah and its really starting to piss me off. There is no reason for him to get tagged as often as he does.
