Below's start is being skipped and he's heading back to the bullpen since Fister should be back early next week. Once again Raburn sits likely due to his hamstring (or a RH pitcher, not sure). Also once again Dirks is DH while someone else is in LF. I wonder how many good defensive plays he's gotta make before he actually gets regular time in left vs at DH.

Thanks Spockmaster....

Same Tigers lineup as they had Monday, but the batting order has a slight tweak. Ramon Santiago bats eighth, with Don Kelly moved down to ninth. Jim Leyland said a little bit ago that he decided to get the switch-hitting bat further up.
There?s a line showers in Indiana and Ohio right now that looks like it?s headed this way. How much it dampens downtown and how long it lasts remains to be seen.

Detroit metro weather in motion.

I wonder if Dirk's hammy's are acting up again because Kelly sure did not fair well in left the last game he was there..

Actually makes sense to have Kelly in Left and not DH, since as a utility player he often gets moved to a different position, and you lose the DH if you put him in the field.

Though I might have just had Boesch DH, and had good OF defense for 1 game.

true, but Kelly's fuckup is more fresh in my mind than boesch's is though.

No.

He misplayed a ball in NY he lost in the lights costing us a run, so he'll get ragged for a bit.

But Dirks is superior.

People seem to forget Dirks was not a good OF last season. -06 Defensive WAR. As bad as DY. Not saying Dirks is as bad but he did not do well there last season..

That was the answer Leyland gave yesterday.

I would like to see AJax running here, put the pressure on their defense.
