Despite subpar pitching, Tigers batters had plenty of chances to score more runs but left em stranded.

The Tigers lost by two runs scored by two lone runners off WPs that moved them both to third and who then scored on a groundout and flyball...in consecutive innings. (also similar occurred after a WP just the inning prior, the ONLY difference being that the runner scored on a single!!) A classic example of beating yourself...plus a runner easily advanced into scoring position on a single to center, b/c the Tigers IF wasn't paying any attention. This team makes a LOT of bonehead plays.


Never before have seen ANY Tigers team uncork 3 WPs in consecutive innings by 3 different pitchers that led to 3 runs scored!!
