Tigers vs. twins Game Thread April 1

Torii appropriately makes the catch for out #3 Tigers win 4-2..wow..that was quick to the Wings.

Benoit pitching 9th inning,

willingham first pitch pop ups to Avila,

now pitching change to Coke,

moroneau 0 and 2, check swing called strike three,

doumwit flys to Hunter,

Tigers win 4 - 2 over twins,
Verlander with the Win,
Coke with the Save,
TigersVictorCigar.

Justin Verlander got the 1st Opening Day victory of his career.

Holy cow...really didn't know that...has he pitched every Opening Day, likely not including his rookie season in '06? So..Justin has had an ND or an L 07-12?

Doug, It was posted somewhere earlier that it's his 6th or 7th opening day start, most since Morris' 11 straight.

Heard Dickerson and Price say JV was 0-1 with 4 no decisions until today.

Anytime you can get a win in such lousy cold conditions you gotta love it, good start, torri and prince and Omar look to hitting the ground running outta the gate with the bat, can't ever watch during the day for these day games but listened in on radio here and there.

Closer by committee 1 for 1!!

>:D

"The Tigers have won 16 of their last 20 games at Target Field since Sept. 2, 2010, outscoring the Twins 117-81 in that stretch"

Okay...so I'll take an OD win @ the frigid target field over a loss @ the climate-controlled baggiedome anyday...esp if it results in a series-sweep as well.

Interesting...but most probably incorrect:

Wilkin Ramirez makes MLB's (un)official 5,000,000th appearance:

The twinks played outside at metropolitan stadium for their second home opener (were Washington Senators 1st incarnation prior to moving to MN) on April 14, 1962, when it was 33 degrees. The baggiedome officially opened in '82...too bad it wasn't a decade later in 92 (b/c of '87) The twinks moved to target field in '10.
