Tigers vs. twins Game Preview.

DETROIT - A sore left hamstring has pushed Max Scherzer's start to Sunday, paving the way for a spot start Tuesday night by left-handed long reliever Duane Below.
It's the first start this season for Below, who entered spring training a candidate to fill the club's fifth starter role. He fell short, but made the Opening Day roster as a long reliever.
Of the six candidates vying for the No. 5 spot this spring, five will have started a game this season for the Tigers when Below takes the mound Tuesday night against the Minnesota Twins.
Considering Below hasn't pitched more than 2 2/3 innings since April 21, the 26-year-old isn't expected to pitch deep. Tigers manager Jim Leyland said late Monday that he was hopeful Below could eat four innings before the club would need to go to its bullpen.
Ryan Raburn will make his second straight start -- this time, starting at second base and batting seventh behind Alex Avila, who is making his fourth straight start behind the plate.
Brennan Boesch returns to right field, batting eighth in front of Ramon Santiago, who is batting ninth and spelling Jhonny Peralta at shortstop.

Scherzer okay, but Tigers staff being cautious skipping his start.
Max Scherzer: "If push came to shove, I probably could've pitched today." But he didn't want to push it, so Below is, instead.
Meanwhile, Kevin Rand just pieced Alex Avila together with duct tape.
Manager Jim Leyland made this clear Tuesday;
The Tigers have not lost faith in Brennan Boesch.
A day after being called on to pinch-hit in a key situation against the Twins, Boesch was back in the lineup Tuesday, batting eighth and playing right field.
"We certainly haven't lost any confidence in him," Leyland said before Game 2 of the four-game series at Comerica Park. "We think he has a high ceiling. I've always felt that way. He's got a lot of equipment."
There was plenty of evidence of that in 2011. Last year this time, there was All-Star buzz surrounding Boesch. An injury late in the season slowed him, but he still finished batting .283 with 16 home runs and 54 RBIs.
Now the third-year ballplayer is hitting .231 with seven homers and 27 RBIs. His slugging percentage is down to .346 from .458 a year ago.
"I've just gotta keep going out there," said Boesch, 27. "You know, the first half of the season, so far, hasn't been easy on me. And that's just how baseball works sometimes. But I'm definitely looking forward to more consistency in the second half."
It appeared, for a moment that he was on his way. In a win over the Cubs on June 13, he had four hits, including a homer and two RBIs. Some thought he might've figured something out with his swing.
But he hasn't had a multi-hit game since, and has batted just .135 with two RBIs in his last 15 games. On Monday, he struck out twice, including once to end the 6-4 loss. He left four runners on.
The struggles aren't for a lack of trying, Leyland said.
"There's probably been more work done with him this year than probably anybody else, trying to get him locked in somehow," Leyland said. "And really, there's times with all players it comes to a point where you gotta apply and you gotta figure some things out yourself.
"There's a lot of real good signs there. But he's struggling, to put it mildly."
