Tigers vs. twins Game Thread May 26

That change up of Max's is like a hard knuckleball....damn...nasty...

Another effectively shitty pitcher holding us in check, of course it doesn't help when you have three guys in the line up hitting under .200

2 hit off this bum through 5, wow

Alex w/ the passed balls again...why you suck???

*Avila '10 statline: .228/.316/.340/.656

104-G 294-AB 28 runs 67 hits 12-2B 0-3B 7-HR 31-RBI 36-BB 71-K

Avila '12 statline .243/.352/.384/.736

116-G 367-AB 42 runs 89 hits 21-2B 2-3B 9-HR 48-RBI 61-BB 104-K

Avila '13 projected statline: .168/.248 /.286/.534

115-G 405-AB 41 runs 68 hits 7-2B 0-3B 14-HR 34-RBI 44-BB 138-K

Alex has so far been very successful in attempting to make his '13 season look as bad, (if not worse in some cases) than his first ('10) as the Tigers' starting catcher. Even his mediocre, near Mendoza-line '12 stats look MUCH more acceptable in comparison.

He may very well be a thorn in the Tigers' paw all season long season @ starting C, IF he doesn't significantly improve @ the plate on O, and also to some degree behind it on D. Leyland has been quoted recently as stating that Pena might get more PT @ catcher, but that is @ best only on a temporary basis, and Alex most likely will remain as their defacto first string catcher.

Maybe the Tigers will give Max a little more run support this 3rd time around vs "Cy" pelfrey.

Short conversation between Leyland and Scherzer at the base of the dugout steps, but no Handshake of Doom. He's at 109 pitches.

FU Leyland, DD get a better backup on the bench, Santiago moves and swings like I do at twice his age.

Avila has to go to Toldeo, I think it's only Holaday who could come up, which might translate to the same offense and a learning curve of the pitchers.

another pos clown shoes pitcher pelfrey keeping them at 2 measly runs,

lucky hit and he needed it, that was Alex Avila's first RBI hit since May 10.

Tigers lead 3 - 1.
