Tigers vs. whitesox Game Thread September 3

The best was when Cabby hit it, the Sox catcher just started walking off the field. Beautiful thing to watch!

"Santos (3-4) hadn't allowed a run in his previous 30 road appearances, dating to last season...."

That is all...

Cabrera's walkoff homerun.
from the Tigers official site

and for those of you that haven't heard Dan Dickerson call the homeruns on the Tigers radio of XM; two calls, one by fox, then Dan Dickerson.

I went to the game today. My dad and me left at the begining of the 8th inning. I never leave games early and today we left. I can't believe I missed that today.

I was at the game on Tues too, I would have seen 2 walkoffs in one week

Yep, games last 9 innings.

Real fans know this.

oh ok I see how ya are

If I come off like an asshole, sorry....

But it pisses me off when someone calls "game, bob." in the 4th freaking inning.

I watch/listen to 9 innings(or more) of Tigers baseball, and 4 quarters of Lions games, 3 periods of Red Wings games, because that's how long a game is, I don;t say the hell with it just because we are not winning.

Hopefully next time you'll stick around, because the comeback wins are the sweetest of them all.

And those of us here got to enjoy it the best way.

P.S. thanks for the smite ;)

you people don't understand that's how it has to be, it's reverse psychology, you best get used to it that's how it works for some people. to each his own. AND tonight.. I really did have to go with a prior commitment anyway so for me it was game bob, get it. gessshh, i've never left a Tiger or Lion game i've attended in person early... ever! you know what pisses me off? when other people claim to know what a "real fan" is, we are all fans else we would be here day in and day out.. so get out my grill man.

Some people don't like Dickersons calls, but I listen to him 150+ games a year, and when I watch a game with Mario and Rod I have a hard time keeping awake, because they seems so mellow.

Dan Dickerson does a fantastic job IMO.

Whenever I am away from here and a Tigers game is on I have Dan and Jim on the XM in the car. They are in some ways, as you said, better than Rod and Mario. Better insight and 'telling it like it is' instead of some gloss and/or excuses. But I like them all.

i love listening to the radio broadcast, dickerson is great (price, not so much...if i hear "the art of pitching" one more time or another irreverent story from '68, im gonna snap).

Lol. Pretty much a TV guy these days but back in the 70's and listening to HARWELL all season was pure joy. We'd all be outside with me or my friends dad next door with the radio on turned up loud so the whole neighborhood could hear. Those were the days.
