The Tigers didn't make any changes to the roster for the American League Championship Series, and they aren't making any changes to their everyday lineup.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland will run out the same lineup tonight that he used in Game 2 and Game 3 of the American League Division Series earlier this week.
Tonight's lineup is stacked with right-handed hitters as New York will put the ball in Andy Pettitte's hand for the ALCS opener. First pitch is 8:07 p.m. and will be televised on TBS.
Avisail Garcia will start in right, batting eighth behind left fielder Andy Dirks. Gerald Laird, hitless in five at-bats this postseason, will spell catcher Alex Avila, who will ride the pine with a left-hander on the mound.
Pettitte picked up the loss in Game 2 against Baltimore last Monday in New York's best-of-five AL playoff series. He's limited left-handed hitters to a .202 batting average.
The Tigers will counter with right-hander Doug Fister, who was 1-1 with a 6.52 ERA in two division series games against the Yankees last year.
This postseason, Detroit has combined to hit .194 with a .239 on-base percentage and .463 OPS against southpaws. That could be a serious problem for the Tigers if the Yankees, who haven't announced a Game 3 starter, are to start ace CC Sabathia twice in the best-of-seven series.

This left handed pitcher lineup is overdue IMO. Pettitte isn't going to over power anyone, stay on it, take it the other way and don't try to pull anything bats!

I believe the bats come to life tonight and jump on Pettitte for 5 runs. Tigers win game one 7-4 behind strong night from Miggy/Prince/Delmon driving in 5 of the 7 runs.

LMAO one can only hope.

I hope so...going to watch some of it on my big screen in the basement.. Be back in a little while

Saturday evening....most are probably at the bar drinking or rounding up cats. lol

Tigers hitting 1st inning:

Jackson strike call barely, inside, swing and miss at 88, curve is outside no extending, jammed liner to second,

Infante fastball outside, cutter? strike call, swings at a ball grounder to third,

Cabrera rips the first pitch cutter on a line one hop past third single,

Fielder takes a strike, meatball is fouled back, chases the slider low,

pettitte with 12 pitches,

Okay Fister, stay away from the lefties, and Bust the righties off the plate inside.

Cabrera has now reached safely 17 straight postseason games w/ Detroit passing Gehringer and trails Greenberg (18) for longest streak in club history.
