Jeter can actually blame himself for that injury too. They had a runner on 3rd with 2 outs in the 10th innning and he flew out to right field.

And what a game for Peralta...3-5 with a walk and 2 great plays in the field...and he killed Derk Jeter with that ground ball.



Series MVP so far. Those 2 defensive plays alone kept us from getting blown out early.
 
Funny how things work out. If Valverde doesn't blow up in the 9th, Jeter doesn't break his ankle.

I dunno, maybe not then, but as easily as it broke, I gotta believe he had stress fractures or something already. Remember he had soreness problems with it going into the game.
