Tigers second baseman Omar Infante is in Detroit's lineup for Game 4 of the ALCS, a day after he jammed his right thumb on a play in the ninth inning.
Infante injured the thumb Tuesday night while trying to field a single off the bat of New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira. X-rays taken on the thumb following the game came back negative.
He's batting .267 this postseason (.154 in the ALCS) with a double and a team-high seven runs scored.

No change from the usual lefty lineup for the Tigers, which in this case is a good thing. Omar Infante is back in the lineup after suffering a right thumb contusion when he made an attempt at that Mark Teixeira single up the middle with two outs in the ninth.

A-roid and Granderson are both out of the lineup tonight. Swisher is back in.

So, who are the majority of Tiger fans cheering for in the NLCS? Assuming the Tigers advance, who do we match up better with. The Giants seem to me to be a little better of a team top to bottom but the Cards just are so damn clutch and have IT. Still, I would like to see the Tigers get revenge for 06. Either way, I hope it is a short series so the Tigers aren't waiting for a week to play.

Yeah, I just saw.

Girardi is an idiot. He's missing Jeter, and benches ARod, and Swisher now Granderson, but playing Swisher again. He's not going with his best chance to win, he's going to try to have guys like Eric Chavez and Brett Gardener, and Raul Ibanez carry him through.

Won't surprise me if Girardi is fired tonight, right after the game if the Yankees lose.

Cardinals and Giants are basically a coin flip. I don't think either gives us that big of an advantage or disadvantage.

Cards.

Some people are afraid of thier mojo, and rightly so.

But the Tigers are where we are because our pitching has just been so superior to any other teams, but SF takes that advantage away. Cain, Vogelsong, Bumgarner, and Zito + Lincecum might not be better then Verlander, Fister, Sanchez, Scherzer + Smyly, but it's pretty close.

jeter arod and grandy out for a elimination game is very surprising. Thats the hand your GM dealt you....ballsy...seems like a sink or swim decision. Could be real bad for him if they go down in flames and half their payroll isnt in the lineup.

Interesting that they are not playing ARod or Grandy. I would figure that you have to let your talent try and win a game for you. I mean who cares though F#ck em, I just hope Brett Gardner doesn't get on base. That guy could steal second by the time Scherzer's lazy throw to first gets to Prince's glove.

Let's get the Brooms out (and not because anyone clamied shenanigans)

Buster Olney was just saying Arod has 5 years 114 million left on his deal. Last night he asked various GM's what the going rate for ARod would be he said they all gave a similar number of about 1 year at 5 million.

I want the Cardinals just because I those west coast trips seem to do wonders against the Tigers. That and knowing the scheduling gods the games wouldn't start until 10 or 10:30 local time.

Worse pick-off moves I've ever seen.

Good point. West coast games suck.

looks like rain on the way boys, right around 9 or so i'd say.. it'll start up prolly. would anyone mind a rain out tonight? give the other series a chance to catch up so we don't have so many days off if were to sweep this?

Or better yet start this on time! Long delay by the 3rd or 4th get fat boy out, Porcello to follow max? I think that would work out just fine.

I dont care who win from the NL, I just want to wrap up our series tonight and have the NL season go 7 games. That way we can organize our rotation the way we want.

Damn, looks like the stream for tonights game got pulled.

I'd like to see them go about 3 innings of scoreless baseball then have it rain cats and dogs. Let the Rain fuck with CC's start!

The first game of the World Series begins on Wednesday, Oct 24th. It doesn't matter how fast anyone wraps it up.

Game 1: Wed, Oct 24th home for the NL
Game 2: Thurs home for the NL

Game 3: Sat home for the AL
Game 4: Sun AL
Game 5: Mon AL

Game 6: Wed NL
Game 7: Thurs NL

We'll beat the Cardinals this time. (Barring a disaster in this series.)

They haven't face a staff to the caliber of the Tigers' yet.

Bear in mind the Tigers' staff has given up 15 ER this postseason...Valverde has given up **7** of them!!! Without his disasters we have a ***0.96*** ERA in the postseason. Out of control.
