Tigers vs. yankees ALCS Game Thread 4 Oct. 17

I swear mlb always does the dumbest things with weather involving tigers games...

I'd rather they start the game without the threat of rain.

Given Joe Torre's involvement it doesn't surprise me in the least that they are delaying this to preserve CC.

Naturally because it would put the Tigers in better position to win if they started and had to stop...

If this were in New York and the Yankees were leading the series they'd be starting...

So If we win tonight we could have our rotation as Verlander / Fister / Scherzer / Sanchez / Verlander / Fister / Scherzer ?

Usually I think conspiracy theories are stupid but this wouldn't surprise me at all.

I just hope they learned their lesson from last season....the rain pissed all over the tigers last year and I seem to recall them losing out on a bases loaded situation due to rain.

Look at the map it ain't happening tonight IMO.. So what now? Friday game in Detroit if needed?

They started tne cards game in the same scenario, its bs in my opinion. All the fans come out to sit around and then more than likely ne told to go home. They are sitting there in perfect weather when they could be playing baseball.

I agree, this is to save cc, could have probably played 1.5 hours of baseball.

I think we have the pitching match up advantage. I'll take Max vs CC over Porcello vs whoever.

I read in a few places (none of which I know of being 100% reliable) that they'll wait 3 hours past the original start time to throw the first pitch?? Confirm/Deny??

Also, I wonder when DD meets with the commissioner if he asks why he wasn't given this courtesy last season...

Agree.. with the way teams haven't been scoring much in this series 1.5-2 hours of playing time is plenty of time to get this into the 6th or 7th. They should have started it.. Now what?

Friday home game now if needed?

Damn Rain is still .5 away min..

Grounds crew in Detroit rolling up the on-deck circle mats and taking them away.

On-deck circle being rolled up and taken out.

Now they're taking the bases away at Comerica Park. No baseball anytime soon.

Pitcher's mound now being covered with the small tarp. Big tarp sure to be next.

So now the tarp is going on field at Comerica, almost 1 hour after scheduled first pitch.

This game gets postponed, no way Girardi keeps Arod and Grandy on the bench. The NY media is tearing him a new asshole for it, he's going to cave.

Rain is our worst enemy in the playoffs once again.

This is bullshit, showing sienfeld/yankees stuff on tbs instead of the game. They better show "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man" to even it out.
