Tigers vs. yankees ALCS Game Thread 4 Oct. 17

Does everyone want to stay with this Game Thread for Game 4 this afternoon?

ESPN 1070 Indianapolis better be broadcasting this game so that I can listen to it at work! Tuesday they cut in half way through after the Pacers preseason game, and last night it was going to be the WNBA Finals taking precedence over it :/ I understand it is probably contractual, but it is still incredibly frustrating lol. And work will fly by if I get to listen to the game...well hopefully.

I guess I am assuming you have access to a pc at work, but wxyt the tigers flagship station, broadcasts for free, online at

http://tunein.com/radio/971-The-Ticket-s30370/

But yeah, if you don't have access to a cpu, the links pretty pointless.

On a related note, i think its funny, that the only rights mlb.tv has in terms of broadcasting games during the playoffs, is providing the audio from radio stations, and charging people $20-$30 just for that. When most radio stations mirror their stations online for free.

Ivan Rodriguez now in interview room. #Tigers #Yankees #ALCS pic.twitter.com/mMdYPuwb

Pudge on Cabrera: "For me, he has to be the MVP. There's no question about it." #ALCS
Pudge on Miggy: "He has to be the MVP this year. No question." #tigers

Mr Dombrowski told me he was going to put together a winning team... And that's what he did."- Pudge on the #Tigers pic.twitter.com/moP79ml9

Ivan Rodriguez on #Tigers Verlander: he's already good but I think he's going to be even better.

Pudge on #tigers wining a World Series for Mr. Ilitch: "I think it's time ... For him to have a trophy in his hands."

Ivan Rodriguez: it's an honor for me to come to the Motor City. The fans are unbelievable. I look forward to going out & saying hi. #Tigers

Wish this game would hurry up and start.

Feels like we've been waiting 5 days...

I believe they don't boadcat the Tigers games though. I have before and it was always a replay of Valenti and Foster or something because they can;t broadcast them online for free.

Tigers vs. Sabathia:
Jackson 5-22, 1HR; Infante 6-29, 1HR; Cabrera 10-26, 2HR; Fielder 4-11, 1HR; Young 6-24; Peralta 1-17; Laird 10-24, 1 HR. Dirks and Garcia have never faced Sabathia.

yankees vs. Scherzer: Ichiro 4-15; Swisher 2-7; Cano 2-11, 1HR; Teixeira 3-13, 1HR; Ibanez 0-2; Chavez 2-2; Martin 3-15; Gardner 0-6.

Pudge gets an ovation, and throws a strike. Then poses for a pic with his protege, Alex Avila.
Ivan Rodriguez throws out the first pitch to #Tigers Avila, who once got a signed glove from Pudge as a kid.
Big hug from Miggy for Pudge, as he comes off the field, too.

Mickey Stanley was in line to throw out ceremonial first pitch Wednesday, but it was postponed. He'll throw out the Game 5 pitch, if needed.

Rochester's 1st. Lt. Jason Everts delivers the game ball, and the pregame festivities are over. Game on.

Don't love the matchup today, that probably means the Tigers win by >5. Hopefully the bats can finally get going today and the pitching keeps doing what it has been doing.

umpire rotation: HP: Jeff Nelson, 1B: Gary Cederstrom, 2B: Mike Winters, 3B: Jeff Kellogg, LF: Rob Drake, RF: Sam Holbrook.

Even though the Tigers are up 3-0 most of the talk has been around Arod and the yankees but the important question still hasn't been asked or answered as far as I know. Did Arod get that woman's digits?

Scherzer pitching 1st inning,

ichiro fouling off pitches 2 and 2, outside full count, 9th pitch popped to Cabrera, sit down ya shit,

swisher fastball fouled back, fastball outside, changeup inside, fastball fouled back, 96 is fouled back, tapped foul, swings and misses, sit down ya shit,

too many foul balls pitch count getting high,

cano fastball fouled back, again, Max feeling strong already up around 94/95/96, swings and misses a slider. sit down ya shit,

Scherzer with 19 pitches,

Tigers need to make CC throw a lot of pitches, no more of this 1 and 2 pitch wasted ABs.

I guess they like that gardner at least put the ball in play. It's definitely a brave move to pull granderson despite his struggles.
