The Tigers have lost 20 of their first 28 games and they are by far the worst team in MLB.
So much of the Tigers? performance has been pinned on Al Avila and Chris Ilitch. But is there someone else?
Beyond the owner, GM and manager, whose performance on the field is concerning you most and why?

Have a feeling that this team of free-swinger scrubs will inevitably set a new record of strikeouts in a 9 inning game @ CoPa this season. IIRC the current record is 20?

A "moral" victory during this game would be those due up not striking out, the Tigers having yet to accomplish such a feat. 9 Ks in 5 innings.
Candy w/only the Tigers second single off of Kluber, but is stranded when Miguel grounded out. But hey...no one Ked in the top 6th!!

Urena pitching a good game vs yanks, giving up only 3 hits and 2 runs in 6 IP...too bad that he can't get any run support so far. Tigers go down 1-2-3 top 7th.

I get that there isn't much legit major league talent on this roster, but it seems that EVERY SINGLE PLAYER is having their career worst season at the plate. What exactly is Scott Coolbaugh(our new hitting coach) doing with these guys?

Right now the Tigers have the 2nd lowest OPS+ in the live ball era (72) just two points ahead of the lowest, the 1920 Philadelphia Athletics (70).

The very ugly offensive stats (and they truly are!) for the Detroit Tigers in the month of April:
- ranking #30 in batting average (.199)
- ranking #30 in on-base % (.257)
- ranking #30 in slugging % (.345)
- ranking #30 in on-base + slugging % (.602)
- #29 in strikeouts
- #28 in fewest walks
- #30 in chase rate (35%)
- #30 in contact rate (71.7%)
The worst stat? It's their worst month of April since.....2003.

I can't believe that there is/are more than 1 or 2 positional players who are performing @ or above replacement level...which means that the Tigers could release or DFA practically anyone...then beg/borrow/steal/acquire other teams' MiLB or MLB castoffs later this season and maybe get a or a few better player or players.
