Tigers

I really like Andy Dirks, i just hope his stats in winter ball translate to this MLB season.

saw his name like 4 days in a row go across the ticker on espn....was like wtf....lol

I have been reading about this, but it's not going to be relevant to the Tigers.

Andy Dirks is like David Hasselhoff. In Germany he's a superstar, when he gets home he's in for a rude awakening.

I'm sure he's a nice kid, but I doubt that he suddenly evolved into Lou Gehrig because he has a few nice games in the Dominican.

like him or not, he's doing what's best for him by playing down there, to improve his game.

Agreed. It definitely can't hurt and it will probably do wonders for his confidence at the plate.

I agree, the downside is it could inflate his Ego to Inge-ian proportions.

I shudder at the thought.

+1

What'd he hit last year? .250? Realistically, if he could bump that to .275-.280 it'd be a huge help.

It will never happen. Inge was delusional to the point of insanity. Dirks would have to be full blown schizo to surpass Inge.

Quit hating MI_Thumb, what's good for Dirks can be good for the Tigers especially if he improves his game a little. No one is expecting Lou Gehrig reincarnate, but he plays a decent outfield, runs the bases well and will get a few hits. Not bad for a fourth outfielder.

Who's hating, I'm talking about reality.

Andy Dirks in the Dominican is no different from Andy Dirks in Toledo or the Tigers bench,t hat's all I'm pointing out, is not to expect Andy Dirks to be the next big thing once he gets back, because he will probably start the season in Toledo.

And he would not be the 4th OF'r, Ajax, Boesch, DY, Kelly, and Raburn are all going to make the team, plus there is a possibility of Inge getting some OF time as well, more than likely we have no roster spot for Dirks, because Worth is more likely to get it.
