For the blown call at the end of the game on the missed extra point that the refs called good.

What's your opinion on this? Honestly in this particular case I do think they should take it away from Syracuse and give it to Toledo - or at best give them both a W (not sure how that would affect records). Syracuse didn't win the game. I think this case is different than most "blown calls" because this isn't an opinion, it isn't a look hard at the video and you can see the one piece of green grass between his foot and the line or any other call that's questionable. This is a cut or dry thing. Either it went through the uprights or it didn't.

What's odd to me is that they had enough to question the call and look at the video - but they still didn't make the right call. How that happened is beyond me but someone shouldn't have a replay job from now on; that's for sure. I think Toledo got a huge shaft here.

Here's the video for those who missed it:

I don't know what they should do. This is awful and something the NCAA can not allow to happen. This is the kind of stuff that happens when people have money on the line. (not saying the officials did but you never know)..it looks terrible, its unfair and should have been an easy call to change after review. I don't think you can take the W from Syracuse because you can't assume that in a 29-27 game Syracuse would have played the same defense and given up a game winning field goal. You really can't assume that everything in the rest of the game owuld have gone as it did. Maybeit just doesn't go as a loss against Toledo but all stats are kept the same? I really don't know but it was terrible.

No, they can't change it. If they would have ruled the PAT to be no good, everything would have changed. It's not a stable situation. Everyone would have played differently with a different score.

I really feel for Toledo......but it can't change. That would set a precedent that the NCAA would never allow.

Syracuse should forfeit the game, then send an angry letter to the Big East office telling them to get their act together.

How do you get an XP attempt wrong after you review it on film? Do they have some sort of neural disorder or maybe brain damage that prevents them from interpreting images correctly?

I don't think there's any way they can give Toledo a W...but this whole thing is fucking ridiculous. I don't understand how the replay official could possibly uphold the call of a successful PAT.

Agreed.

Setting a precedent where they get calls right, the NCAA should avoid that at all costs.

It's obvious that the replay official made a blunder. After catching the story on ESPN, the replay official apparently only watched the sideline view, "which proved to be distorted." Regardless, the wrong call was made, even after the review. I credit Toledo's AD for recommending that the game is vacated, meaning neither team receives a win or loss. To me that seems like a fair compromise. I can only hope that Syracuse has enough decency to agree.

The guy should be fired... Sounds like he had a agenda to me... Terrible call and I feel bad for Toledo to be robbed like this.... Looks pretty shady to me... Some people had the moneyline....

No, it's not a fair compromise. Terrible mistakes happen all the time in football. This is about as bad as I get, I understand that. But you have no way of knowing how the teams would have responded if they would have gotten the call right. Everything changes at that point. If they started that precedent, they would have to go back through time and change millions of results.

No they wouldn't.

You can't start this trend. It's not a fair result. It sucks, it was a terrible mistake, but that's the way it goes.
