Trent Richardson on his way out of Indy

because our run game already sucks. And if you get him and he sucks....then you just built in another excuse why Stafford cant win anything.

We have Trent Richardson already. His name is Joique Bell.

Would love to see a guy like Melvin Gordon.

Some mocks have us taking Gurley. Coming off an ACL though? That's scary as hell

Before he tore his ACL, Gurley was unstoppable. But yeah, I don't like that.

Drafting an RB in the 1st round will be the only time I excuse the Lions for going offense in round 1 because the pick isn't coming until later. They really need a game breaker.

I agree, Gurley was a monster. Gordon won't be available when we pick. If Gurley can get back to 100% by the time the season begins, I'd have no problem with him being the Lions pick.

scary? that's right up mayhews alley! offensive playmaker with no knees....id be surprised if he wasn't #1 on his board.

No Gurley....but hughes's point is valid. Mayhew loves the wounded...

The post right below this says Mayhew is looking forward to Ryan Broyles offseason. I think that says it all.

Trent Richardson is worth nothing. Even a 5th round O-lineman has a chance to be good, to be useful just be sheer luck. Richardson has proven time and again that he can't run effectively. If we had a great O-line, it wouldn't matter who was running the ball. If we don't (as is the case), Richardson in no way helps the run game.

It's hard for me to know what to think of T-Rich to be honest.

As a rookie he broke Jim Brown's rookie rushing record... that's a huge positive.

As a rookie, he put up damned impressive numbers, and looked like a stud RB in Cleveland... thats a huge bonus.

As a sophomore he declined prior to being traded to Indy, but the Browns were in such bad shape offensively, I can't say it was a negative on one guy in my mind... neutral.

In Indy he has been a train wreck, unable to move the ball to save his life. BIG BIG negative when you look at that passing game and the lanes he's had open.

I just don't know if a change of scenery might help this guy get his legs back, or if that rookie season was a fluke.

The fact is, that rookie year he averaged something like 3.6 yards per carry, which is good, but nothing to write home about.

This season he averaged 3.3 yards per carry, which is not as good, but nothing to end his career over.

He only got like 150 or so carries this season, which tells me the coaches in Indy see something in him they really don't like enough to trust. That's a red flag for me.

I'm torn. I don't think the Lions should trade for him. As a first round pick headed into the 4th year of his contract, he's going to be way to expensive to risk, but someone may pick him up off the scrap heap and do well for it. Or not.

Somewhat related to this topic - What do you guys think we should do with Reggie Bush? I wouldn't mind seeing him go, but I don't know how realistic that is or what the cap hit would be if we cut ties.

I am indifferent to Reggie. He shows flashes at times, but how dissimilar are his and Theo's skillsets? Theo's got youth and as of now a much lower salary going for him.

One million cap SAVINGS by cutting him is what I read
